Ugh, I thought one of these would have appeared by now.

I'm excited, Are you?

I'll definitely be picking it up. I heard it was going to "reboot" the series and follow the manga more closely this time around.

Not too sure about the new character designs but they're pretty close to the old ones (Roy looks scary in the teaser).

i have heard of this. it's looks good. might check it out!

Might want to check out the first season and the movie :p

Still can't tell if its going to be a reboot or not really but it certainly looks like a reboot

already got the first season and movie! i think that this will be like the second negima season that is coming over here next year in that it sticks closely to the manga!

The second Negima series doesn't stick the manga at all. Even less than the first series. They created a completely new story for it.

OT!~ Really looking forward to the new FMA! :D

Like I said on MAL a long time back: If it sticks to the plot of the manga, starting again from the very beginning, I'll be on it like a horny rabbit. I've wanted to see the real FMA for a long time, so getting another anime that's faithful works out perfectly.

I just hope it looks good... Roy's eyes looked off in the teaser; way too slanted.

Exactly my concern too. I'm hoping it looks better when it's in context and not just a few frames of animation :/

The light reflecting off them makes them look weirdly shaped/angled.

Ed and Al look great though so unless they selectively forgot how to draw for the Roy scene I have high hopes that it will be fine in the end.

Oooh even I might check this out. I enjoyed what I saw of FMA, and intend to finish it by the end of the month. The school Holidays are gonna be so unhealthy for me, sitting around watching anime and eating xmas food. Oh and before my girlfriend goes away, seeing her.

Not much exercise.

I'm seriously looking forward to this. I can't wait to hear the background music -- hope it's as stellar as in the original adaptation.

If it follows the manga I just don't think I could muster enough patience. I guess it largely depends on what route they decide to take episode wise. 13, 26, 51? Or perhaps 100+.

Fullmetal is one of those series that seems to be loved by almost everyone, which the possible exception of Lupus, who believes we should scrap the anime and keep only to the manga =)

I'm pretty excited as well, bu I believe it's gonna take forever to be released here =/

When has BONES ever gone over 51 episodes? Anyway, I'm glad, finally, FMA done right the original anime was pretty good but the manga is easily better. Get to see bad ass manga Wrath. I can see it going into OVAs eventually myself.

It wouldn't make any sense for a remake that follows the manga to not fully the manga 100%. The whole point of this (aside from money) is to show fans of the anime the real story that was changed first time around due to the studio running out of chapters to animate, so it'd all be for nothing if cuts and edits were done.

The poor art shown in the few second teaser makes me think this is going to be a super-long series, which means lower quality art and animation. If that's the case, it'd kinda ruin watching the early sections of the story because most of the content was included in the first series...I was hoping to get more out of those sections by watching 720P sexiness; not Naruto in HD.

What's so poor about the art in that tiny teaser? The only noticable change to the animation of the series was the slight change in Roy's eyes. Doesn't mean it's not supposed to be like that. They could've just updated the character designs for whatever reason.

To be honest, my prefered series format would be, maybe, a 51 episode series to get us up to date with the manga; then regular OVAs every volume released, or something along those lines.

The highlights in the eyes are wrong - and stay wrong over several frames. It looks weird, and I say this even as a fan of some very weird looking series.

It took me a while to open this thread because I had no idea what the hell "Hagane" is. I didn't realize that it was Fullmetal Lolchemist. Now I'm wondering whether I should partake of the DVD sets that Revelation will be releasing here next year or just wait for this.

The art work in that trailer looked horrifically unprofessional. I hope there's an improvement in the actual series.

The FMA manga is not as good as the anime by a long shot. It drags a bit and becomes far, far too generic (something the anime avoids by creating emotionally involving backstories and effective mysteries). That said, it's still enjoyable (though a very, very different story to what FMA: The Anime turned out like) and I'll most certainly be watching this series when it starts.

The DVDs are well worth it. FMA is an extraordinarily great series, and the dub is brilliant ;]

They probably rushed it together for the announcement, so I doubt it'll even appear in the final series - and frankly Bones have been animating a lot of stuff recently so I can understand them being rushed.

As for this reboot thing, dunno how I feel about it. I've never read the manga so I can't comment on the series vs manga debate, but honestly I think it will have a hard time topping the 1st anime for me.
