Quick Naruto Question

I'm up to episode 122 of Naruto, and apparently most of the rest is just filler episodes. Can someone tell me when the mass fillers begin and end so I know which episodes to skip? Thanks.

I think the last episode of the Sasuke Retrival Arc is about 135-136 so i would say from 137 till the start of Shippuden are filler
You can stop right after the end of Sasuke's retrieval. Or you can go on and see the postman ninja or the ramen naruto.... >>

The canon storyline ends on 135, bar for the last few minutes of 220, the rest is all filler, so your best bet is just to finish on 135 and go onto Shippuden, or you can continue with it in the manga as it goes into Part 2 after that.

The worst part is that I'm going to regret not watching all the fillers because I'll always wonder what they were, yet at the same time I could easily watch various other good series' in the time it takes me to watch all that ****. So here's another question; are the fillers decent to watch or are they really just a waste of time? I love me some Hinata so I wouldn't mind seeing those episodes, no idea which ones they are though.

Ugh, the movies are horrible. The only mildly entertaining one is the first. It had a some action with an normal filler setup (damselle in distress), It also looked respectable. The following two are disgraceful in every respect, except animation. The third features some whiney brat, somewhat similar to the brat in the Zabuza arc whilst the second is some **** about a stone.

Really, though, The only good JUMP movie I've seen has been Movie 4 of One Piece: Dead End Adventure. Just because it captures the characters in the correct light, and it's fun. The rest are mediocre and feel elongated immensely. I hear the Shippuden movie is the same.

Fillers, I skipped, are a waste of time. Shippuden/Part 2, again, is another a waste of time.

I watched ALL the filler and to be perfectly honest, I really do not see why everyone complains about them all the time. True, they aren't as good as the main story neccasarily, but at the same time, they are alot better that many, many other things you could be watching instead.

You'd be doing yourself a big favour by ignoring everything related to the anime after the Sasuke arc ends. The fillers are awful, some of the worst anime anime has to offer, including episodes about postmen and cooking ninja, and Shippuuden, the series that continues the manga story, is one of the worst manga adaptations known to man. Only true Narutards still bother with Naruto at this point.

Even the manga has slowly gone downhill since the time skip. I no longer care enough to keep up with the manga, instead going on 10+ chapter marathons when I have nothing better to do. Kishimoto no longer has much to offer.

Here's an example of the fail that is Shippuuden: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7WmAUlZLzYo

Yes, I can: if a series doesn't start with any quality then it's clear the animation studio aren't going to improve later. Only Narutards/idiots like Shippuuden.

I watched the awful episode 50-something special, which was so low budget and horribly executed compared to the first ten minutes of the series that it pissed me off. I also recall watching a special around 29-30, which involved Kakashi trying to use his MS for 30 minutes in order to needlessly drag out the manga to a retarded level.

I watched all the filler episodes and for the most part they were enjoyable.
Remember the short Land of Tea filler at the start of the Sasuke retrieval arc?
If you enjoyed that then you should like the filler year episodes, they're up to about the same standard.

Plus do you really want to miss out on seeing Naruto piss over Ino?

that's like saying only satanists and emos like Death note, if you don't like it fair does, but don't go labeling people just because they do like it.

Yes Shippuden isn't quite as good as the original series, but it's hardy GT to Dragonball

I'm with Aion on the "Yes, I can judge a series on a single arc" thing, he is entitled to an opinion, regardless of me agreeing or not with his opinion. I've walked away from movies / series / anime after 10 minutes, so I understand what he says when he says he doesn't like, although I still like Naruto myself.

What I don't like is his remark only narutards and idiots likes naruto, I'm not a narutard and like it. Not as much as I did untill the end of the sasuke retrieval arc, but still like it.

People like different things and if you say you don't like it because you think a ninja postman or a cooking ninja is stupid, well, that's your opinion.

I'm pretty sure not everyone think like that, after all, the filler's kept going for a good 3 seasons, almost 4 seasons. If most people hated it as you did, I highly doubt it would have survived this far, considering how difficult it seems to be to fund a weekly anime series.

think i came across the wrong way, what i ment to say is you can't say an entire series is going to be rubbish from seeing 1 saga, so many shows start slow but end well, ofc you can say you won't like a show cause it's not your style after 1 season.

A book is determined by the book as a whole, not just the prologue

Basicly what i'm trying to say is, You can say what you want about Naruto, it's finished, we all know how it ends now

But Shipp is still going, unless your writing the manga, you can't say it's going to absolute fail cause you don't know how it's even going to end

If it ever ends ;)

Another thing about manga artists, and this is a completely personal view, is that they might have a fair idea of what they want to do, but fail miserably to keep to it due to pressures such as making profits for the magazines. As I've heard, the manga magazines are pretty quick to cancel a series if it's not doing well, so it seems to me that authors have a tendency to drag on and on so they can milk the magazines and the public as much as they can. It's hard to find authors with several good selling mangas and as far as I know, they only get paid on the basis of the weekly series and the tankobon collections sales, so I dare say that it's very likely that many mangakás make a living out of a single successful series.

Like I mentioned, it's not like I have any inside information to back this up. It's just my views given some articles I've read over here an there.
