The official website for Psycho-Pass 2 has been updated with a new key image, info on staff and cast, and a new PV ahead of the season’s premiere on October 09th on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block.

Many of the first season’s staff are returning such as the director, Naoyoshi Shiotani, and the composer, Yuugo Kanno, but the Gen Urobuchi has been replaced as writer by Tow Ubukata (Mardock Scramble). Another major change is that Production I.G are replaced as the animation studio by Tatsunoko Production (Gatchaman Crowds).

Some of the characters who survived the first season are also returning which means familiar seiyuu. Kana Hanazawa (Mayuri Shiina in Steins;Gate, Rize Kamishiro in Tokyo Ghoul) plays Akane Tsunemori, while Kenji Nojima (Masaki in Time of Eve) reprises his role as Nobuchika Ginoza.

Also returning are the acts who made the opening and ending themes. Ling Tosite Sigure have created the song “Enigmatic Feeling” and EGOIST have created a song called “Fallen” and both can be heard in the PV and CM which can be seen in the forum.

For more information on this show and others, check out part 2 of the autumn season preview as well as the first part, both of which are constantly updated with information and PVs.

The only thing holding back my excitement about this sequel is the knowledge that it probably won't get a decent UK-friendly simulcast. I'm really looking forward to (eventually) seeing more after finishing the first series not long ago.

Hopeful of a UK release for this - although news of the first season being a slow seller doesn't instill confidence.

I imagine the confused release strategy and high-ish price point probably lost a few sales, but all things considered, it could be doing a lot worse. Sales are down across the board this year and quite a few other shows that should be selling well are doing worse than it.

Agreed. I do hope it doesn't stop Manga from picking up season 2, or at least if they don't, the US one is playable in the UK. Nothing worse than having a show incomplete (Looking at you Funi, not getting hold of xxxHolic season 2, pah)

I thought sales were up this year? Dunno where I got that idea from but I did think otherwise. Interesting.
