Wii - I know I will, simply because it's all too samey this generation.

The PS2 will always have better games than the PS3, because the cost of developing for the PS3 will be murder for anyone but the massive publishers, like EA. Now just imagine a console with nothing but movie tie-in's, sports games and medicore children's platformers, and you'll have the PS3.

Ofcourse, you'll also get graphic approximately 357% better than those of the PS2. And a hole in your wallet to match.

As for the Xbox360, unfortunately it'll be out of date before the race begins. It's obvious positive is it's amazing online services, coupled with a few decent shooters and racers you'll get a pretty entertaining toy. The only problem is the amount you'll spend on subscriptions and upgrades to keep it up to scratch. The add-on HD-DVD drive is as much as the console itself, for example.

Personally, I'm in support of the Wii, mainly because I can say to people "I have a Wii".

Also the fact that the controller that will be bundled with the console (although an orthodox one is available) will mean that if a games designer wants to gain the full audience possible, it'll have to rework any game ideas to fit the new controller - hopefully leading to some new interesting games.

The Wii, basically being a Gamecube with a new controller and Internet capabillities also means that development will be cheap and easy for those who already developed for the 'Cube. Hopefully this'll mean lots of new games for quick and cheap.

Or you could go with Blu-Ray - It's the future y'know...

Wii for me untill the PS3 price drops so in about 5 years time, but the Wii is a totally new way of gaming, I was sceptical at first at whether it would work, but then I imagined playing a FPS game with the controller it could actually put up a fight against the mighty Mouse and Keyboard. Only problem I do see, the amount of battries it going to use so hopefully they've thought of this had an adapter to plug your controller into the mains.

The PS3 should be amazing once there is a few good games out for it and its dropped in price.

Well, it's already been decided with us... We got a 360.
I think it'd be the best of them because I'm used to the joypad style of play, although I've never tried the new Wii controler. Haven't been close to one really. ^_^'

As for the PS3, I think by now you all know it's problem. I'm thinking it might be an abbandoned project after 6 months... No-one would want to buy it, unless they're insanely rich.

Already "sided" with the 360 here which I'm very impressed with so far. The Wii looks fun and everything but I tend to like to just lay in bed when I play games as opposed to giving myself a fully fledged workout from playing ;)

The PS3 will be a good console I'm sure but at it's price and seeing as I'm not a fan of Sonys "exclusive" franchises I'll be giving it a miss.

i don't side with one in particular, i have the 360 at the moment..i will be getting the Wii when it is released, and i shall be relying on my brother to get the PS3 so i can get a shot on it, since the price of it is way to high for a console for my liking.

The batteries could be an annoyance (and expense),
but the Wavebird lasted ages, even with cheopo batteries.
Probably nothing to worry about.

Wii or 360 (assuming the money doesn't dissapear before then on an Uber PC instead  ).

Currently leaning more towards 360 because of Gears of War and Resident Evil 5 (with the possibility that RE4 might get released on it as well), whereas I've never been too interested in the famous Nintendo franchises (Mario, Metroid, Zelda etc. ).

However, I will say that Nintendo's new controller DEFINITELY interests me, and I feel that simplified control schemes like that are the future. I also like the ability of downloading the Nintendo back-catalogue (although frankly, there isn't much I'm interested in from that either).

If the Wii can guarantee RE5, then I'm going to be seriously torn on the issue.

The PS3 never even entered my interest range. I can't see anything on it that I'm really interested in. I lost interest in JRPG's some time ago (but that's another topic), and other than that, the games seem like the standard fare. That and the console is going ludicrously over priced. When PS3 hits, 360 is already likely to have had its price drop, AND they're aiming to have Gears of War come out on the same day, whereas I can't see PS3 having any killer apps to draw people in on release. I know they're getting RE5 as well at some point, but I'm not too interested if it's just the one game that I'm interested in. I'm certainly not going to buy a PS3 for Blue Ray.

Still, we've got time to see what franchises are going to hit each console.

Always had Playstations so I will definately be buying the PS3 although its more for Final Fantasy XIII, saw the screenshots this month and I'm already drooling

Wii's getting an as yet untitled original Res Evil game while 360 and PS3 are getting 5, makes me want to get a Wii and a PS3

Tetris and Pong were great in their time, eh?

Yup, in their time. Now I don't find them fun. I can still play a game of Tetris for a while if I actually bother to start one up, but that's more to do with the gameplay being compulsive instead of compelling, a very important difference. I'd have much more fun playing an online game of SWAT 4.

I enjoy games today. And I like the cool graphics that come with them. Graphics don't neccessarily make a good game, but they can help make a good one even better. Visuals and aesthetics often play a large part in atmosphere a game generates.

All opinions of course, but then what isn't on a forum.
