I've never been to that site before, I am loving the mini episodes they show on the first page, that has brightened up the beginning of my work day :D

Did'nt they continue with anime on Toonami for a while after CNX? I thought they continued with Outlaw Star. Maybe they see a growing market for anime now, maybe they feel the UK is ready for anime. Look at Japanorama, Manga Force and that Kelly Osbourne show there is resurgency in Japanese culture here, maybe now's the time for an anime block in the UK.

To be fair, that Kelly Osbourne show seems to be doing more bad than good in showcasing Japanese culture and even though I like Ross, Japanorama doesn't seem to fair much better.

i don't remember them continueing outlaw star, DBZ, Big O and rave master yes but not outlaw star or cowboy bebop
 
I could swear I taped Outlaw Star off of Toonami... It was on in the dead hours of the morning though.

No, the killed Cowboy Bebop though which wasn't doing much good with them showing the episodes at inconsistant times, not in order and not even all the episodes. If Bebop does get another airing I'd hope it would be a more respectable one.

So they continued with the anime. So it could'nt be blamed for the downfall of CNX. I think CNX had an idenity crisis when it was on, viewers must have thought it was aimed at kids. Why did'nt they just call it adult swim in the first place?
 
i can only answer why name CNX was axed an not the show, and that was cause Tuner was being threatened by the website CNX over copywright infringement
 
Hum...Free "AS Fix" or Anime...actualy that's quite hard to decide on.

No, seriously, Whilst I don't regret the £9 I spent for my first year of the service. I'd gladly go for advert-funded AS.co.uk.
 
Yeah it is, anyway if we were to get anime what would you like to see? I would like Blood+! I would also un-related here love to see classic Family Guy and Home Movies on it as well.
 
i forgot bravo had so much money to spend on big tv shows and expensive licences..............

may want to start thinking a little realisticly here lol
 
Turner sells Toonami to Channel 5. They have AS on CN in the States, but they put on someone elses channel here in the UK? What's that all about? They don't need a pole, they just need to get it on. Thet're just forken about.
 
I know this by OFCOM regulations, my liitle brother told me. At no point on time must there be adult orientated programming on a child friendly channel. That even count's for 24 hour channels.
 
Which is what made the decision for Jetix to air Naruto problematic. I don't know what they were thinking with that. A show about kids with sharp objects fighting just about everybody they meet. That's exactly what OFCOM doesn't want on the channel.
 
Yeah if you look up the helpful tubetalk on digitalspy, It explains why it can't go on Cartoon Network. I personaly don't have a clue who this current set up we've got works.

Which meens they boxed themselves into a courner when they moved Toonami/CNX from 200 to 600.
So they sunk thier own ship.
End of that story.

Addional: But they went for it anyway with Big O 2 with not a care for OFCOM's rules anyway, so on thier head be it.

Oh we've had plenty of swords and nonsence before and after. What happened there was a lack of advertisment and a deliberate attempt to hide that show under the carpet.
To wit: "saban gave us this show with Digimon (probably) and told us to air it as part of the agreement, we're throwing our toys out the pram so 8pm slot for Esca. Wahhhh".
The exact same thing happened with Shaman King the first time around and ManKin gets away with a hell of a lot more than Naruto ever did, which makes the whole debarticle a joke when you concider a 4KIDS dub is geting better treatment than something that quite frankly shold be treated as the second coming for Jetix
 
I've never been bothered about weather we get anime on tv in the UK because I don't like dubbed stuff at all. (I haven't seen much- can't bring myself to.) Are you all fans of dubbed anime, or do you just prefer it no anime?
