Paradise Kiss anime!

I havn't read the manga yet (not sure if i want to if it will make me depressed for three days, as i'm sure it would  ), but all the same i have to say i'm really interested in this, I've actually been mean to read the manga for quite a while now, so i will have to decide which one i will go for first

The manga is wonderful, I fell in love with every single character, which is why I was depressed at the conclusion of the story - tisn't how I wanted it to end, but it was a GOOD ending, just me being who I am, I wanted something different
I recommend you read the manga, as I don't think the anime will be out for a while and then we just have to hope someone fansubs it!!

There's now an official Paradise Kiss TV website here. I can't wait for the trailer and from what I can see from the stills, it looks like they've got the character design to a "T" - especially George - yummy
From what I can tell, it looks like it starts in October - this is where I pray someone fansubs it

After doing a bit of digging, this is certainly one of the series I've got my eyes on. The fact it will be animated by Madhouse is what attracts me; they tend to produce some unique series (Monster and BECK both come to mind).

Blimey! never thought I'd see you respond to this thread Paul
Just to warn you, it's a series about fashion designers and lotsa romance

I really enjoy watching Honey & Clover and apparently this is the series replacing its timeslot on Japanese TV. And as I said before, I'm a big Madhouse fan. As long as a story is "good", I don't mind about the setting etc :)

The manga story is wonderful! I read all 5 volumes in one go, as it's VERY addictive. The characters are wonderful as well. I fell in love with George - he's so cool (what I really mean is sexy  ) - and the fashions are out of this world. I just hope I'm not disappointed and expecting too much from the anime though.
BTW, if you've looked at the website? and seen the character at the bottom of the characters page (the woman in the Edwardian looking dress), that's a guy

I downloaded a trailer for this yesterday and it looks good; a lot like BECK.

Also, I just read the ending theme is by none other than Franz Ferdinand! :)

Beck in what way? as the character design is almost the same as in the manga (and boy! did George look sexy in full colour and motion  ). I must say though his car looked far cooler in the trailer than in the manga ^_^

BTW never heard of Franz Ferdinand, but I do know there is a Blythe doll that's just been released who was modelled on the singer of the opening theme (Tommy/February 6  ).

Im looking forward to it just because at the end of the day its another show to watch, and the fact that the studio behind it is responsible for BECK makes me even more interested.

I'll be interested to see who does enjoy it, as if the romance is as hardcore as it is in the manga, it's probably going to put a few males off
From what I've read it's going to be a late night show (11.45pm), so I'm hoping the love scenes aren't dampened down too much ^_^

The animation style and character design reminded me of BECK, and the setting has that familiar concrete jungle feel to it. Not to mention the trailer had a guitar scene included.

You should have heard of Franz Ferdinand, they are one of the biggest bands in the UK :)

i can't say i've heard many of their songs either, but it suggests that the anime industry is interested in the latest in British rock music! it's a bit weird that people thousands of miles away are familiar with a band on TV that i've hardly ever heard!

The official Paradise Kiss website has a 30 second trailer up now and I would assume the opening theme is playing in the background (it was quite nice too!).

Believe it or not, but I actually saw Franz Ferdinand on some crappy music show yesterday (my son was watching it) and they seemed OK. Reminded me of late 70's/early 80's punk; like The Ramones, The Stranglers etc kind of thing ^_^

I'm stupidly excited about tomorrow ^_^ I know I'll be tempted to start searching for raws, although I know of 2 fansub groups who are definitely going to be doing Parakiss.

Incase anyone is still unsure about this, I've posted a couple of screenshots from the trailer ^_^
