[Overseas] Anime News & Announcements

That'll be a no for any English speaking countries, I can't say for anywhere else though.

That'll be a day one purchase for me if it does ever get licensed for a home video release, one of my most wanted titles I'd love to own.
Thanks for the info and likewise, I love that show. Was kind of hoping there would be a Japanese release with English subs, but clearly Netflix has other ideas. Nevertheless, after seeing how AL actually got their mitts on releasing that that stunning Devilman Crybaby set, I will remain optimistic for a Komi release in the not-too-distant future.

The Japanese Blu-ray pre-order campaign had an English subs stretch goal (1.000 pre-orders), but it wasn't met (~600 pre-orders).

Ah, I thought there had been a very limited run for the Japanese market only but didn't realize about the pre-order Kickstarter thingy. Shame, if there was enough (or any?!) international publicity on that, I suspect that would have been easily surpassed.

That was certainly an issue, but for me the problem was the specific requirement. Without the English subtitles the discs would be completely useless to me, yet I'm expected to pre-order with no guarantee that they'll be there in the final product. If they were 100% going to be there, or there was a clause allowing me to cancel if that 1000 number wasn't met, I would have absolutely pre-ordered.

It's getting a bit dire for new releases with Sentai, with only I Parry Everything being something they haven't already released in some form. This is the second rerelease for Dusk Maiden of Amnesia which is something I don't think has happened too many times so far though with their normal thing of doing a rerelease instead of a reprint that will probably become more common.

I Parry Everything was a fun show though and I might be interested in getting that one.

This is the second re-release of Infinite Stratos Season 1 as well. Which is annoying, because I would rather they re-release the second season.

Also wish they would re-release Mayo Chiki, as we never got that on Blu-ray in the UK.

I'm In for Black Butler S4, Spice and Wolf P2, and the Re:Zero S1 and Tower of God P2 steelbooks. I ❤️ anime steelbooks!

Konosuba S3 got so bad with the screaming dialogue that I was forced to drop it after only a couple of episodes; that series is probably done for me now. Not into Kaiju.

Fyi, it's the directors cut of Re:Zero Season 1 that condenses it into 11 extended episodes with a new epilogue. Afaik this os the its first home release in the US.

Well, I already own both the Anime Limited Collector's Edition of Season 1 and the Funimation Limited Edition set for Season 1 just for all that chipboard, so I'm basically getting the steelbook only to add it to my anime steelbook collection. Maybe the Director's Cut will be of interest to me or maybe not; I generally prefer watching the full series of something over any condensed version, though. I wonder if we'll see any future seasons in a similar manner, and in a steelbook, or if this will be a one-off? Did Japan do a Director's Cut for season 2? I don't think they did...
