konichawa all! this room can n hopefullt will be bout manga that isn't as majorly popular like naruto, death note, bleach etc etc
so hopefully there should be some ppl put there that have read fab books like tramps like us, saiyuki (+reload),fruits basket (well it is the best selling manga in uk at the mo, but it isn't really tlked about much)
so who has read these and what do u think of em..feel free to add anyothers that u like!! sayonara for now :D
Hmm, if you're saying Fruits Basket doesn't get talked about much, that's setting a preeeetty wide scope for the thread  .

Well, since you asked... I really like Fruits Basket. Although later volumes are learning more towards the serious side of things, and the series is becoming a bit heavier and, dare I say, melodramatic, each new volume is still something I look forward to.

So, good stuff no-one talks about... Sexy Voice and Robo is definitely worth a read - it's a story about a girl, Nico, aka Sexy Voice, who by using her knowledge of people and voices she learnt from telephone dating, ends up doing some detective work for a mysterious patron, accompanied by her robot-otaku sidekick, "Robo". It's a great mix and comedy, mystery and drama, with a dose of harsh realism thrown in. Seriously, at only 1 volume, there's no reason not to check this out.

Buddha by Osamu Tezuka is another series worth looking into, in spite of no-one much saying anything about it. While I haven't actually heard the story of Siddhartha to compare the manga too, I think this can stand on it's own. The depth with which the paths of the characters are all interwoven, their disparate motivations and ideals, make this a good story.

Hatsu Koi Shimai is a solid shoujo-ai series that treads the middle path, venturing neither into the more serious, realistic portrayls, nor the zany comedic ones. It's a more classical story, and has enough length to give real development to the characters.

I know there's been a bit of a buzz around the Tekkonkinkreet anime being released, but the manga's also available in a single volume. It's a great story, with a... nostalgic (?) feel to it.

Finally, I'll just throw in a mention for Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, which no-one seems to talk about, despite it being the best manga ever  . A poetic slice-of-life series, beautifully done, and desperately needs to be released here ^^

Got and red them all apart from FAKE thats just wrong :p

I think many people know about the classic love hina manga that is just a 100x better than the anime

and ye GTO is the greatest manga of all time at least for now

ok list pt2..let see if you read these (i'm not gonna say what they are about)
peach girl, junjo romantica, negima!, bo-bo-bo, kanpai!, angel sanctuary, loveless, hot gimmick, kare kano, ceres celestial legend...do u just want my list of manga instead?

A good single issue manga I like is Line by Yua Kotegawa from ADV. It is about a girl Chiko and the day in her life she picks up a lost mobile phone. The phone rings later at school and she answers it the voice on the other end says "Today 3:50, in front of the train station. Someone will die." This starts the chain of events that sees her running to locations all over the city trying to prevent the deaths the voice on the phone tells her about.

Yeah, Tramps Like Us is really good, I wish people would read more of it here. And Fruit Basket is cool too. Hmm~ Nosatsu Junkie!!!. ^^ I would also say Ouran High School Host Club, but because it's published by shojo beat usa, it's not really sold in the UK. But Ouran should be more popular here.

The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service.

Is a story about a group of college students getting together to use their talents to make some money from the dead by carrying out there last wish, this does not always go without a hitch and many times the adventures cost them and they have to find part time jobs to pay off the debts they incur.

The main cast are.

Kuro Karatsu who is training to be a Buddhist Priest, he can also talk to the dead.

Ao Sasaki leader of the group and hacker.

Numata the Pendulum Dowser main use finding bodies.

Mankino the Embalmer who had to learn her trade abroad due Japans tradition of cremation.

Yata the Channeller with his puppet channelling a questionable alien intelligence.

Isn't there an OVA of FAKE? Or is that considered the movie?

As for underated manga ...uhm ..Off*Beat!
..Okay, so it's an "American" manga, but it's great, I love Tory's little dreams about different worlds, like the western one and so on XD

It's a good read ..Hopefully book 3 is coming out some time this year, I forget when though ..
