Okay... I hate nature

I've never been stung by a bee. Wasps are more Kamikaze than the bees, as they see something = sting it!
Yeah, I have had a fear of wasps because of an incident in primary school. Tip: Dont chase it like you're playing tag with it. I learned that the hard way...

I've been hit by wasps twice in my life (mainly bee-cause I leg it from them when I see them). Bees and I are quite compatible.

But do you know what... erm...

You think wasps are bad? At least they are easy to get rid of. Come up here and walk about the countryside in summer. You will be eaten alive by midgies.

Here's a little gift for you wasp/bee/hornet haters:

These things also shoot acid.

Midges, I never had a problem with them last year you know, then again, I didn't leave the house much.
So your post amounts to nothing? Thanks for sharing.

Yeah not the best ideas adding new animals to get rid of previous ones.

(remembers vague images of simpsons having rat problems.... buying snakes..... having snake problems... buying gorrillas.... Planet of the apes)

But yeah, it'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between a hornet and these mutant wasps that are just as big.

There was a scare a few years back with these shark/tiger/something wasps or mozzies (can't remember too much) that came over in old tires from spain and the government sent out warnings on radios to be careful as they are twice as potent and twice as large as a normal england wasp.

Not as bad for midgies across here, i think its more a problem in the late evenings of summer days where they come out to eat you alive whilst your sat on the decking in the garden, relaxing.
Citronella candles need buying tonight.... i'm cooking a BBQ this weekend :D highs of 23degrees HELL YEAH!
