And it also appears none of the R2Js of Gurren Lagann contain English subs.

Did you think they did contain English subs?
Ryo Chan seemed to think so. Unless it's not a spelling mistake and Gurren Largen is something else entirely.

Before i order Evangelion does anyone know or have a rough idea as to when an English/American release with dub would be available. If it's on it's way I can wait.

Anyone know when 2.0 is scheduled for cinema release in Japan?

Great idea for a thread guys.

The only currently announced release of Eva 1.0 in an English speaking country is Australia, where it is being released by small label Red Ant - probably without a dub. No date for this currently.

My gut says that with all ADV's troubles the Rebuild movies may well not be dubbed until they have all been released. I'm guessing they'd still snap up the rights though.

2.0 has been pushed back a couple of times and I don't think it has a concrete release date at the moment.

Apparently it is having a dub. I only know this from the Evangelion club on MyAnimeList where someone emailed Red Ant about their Eva situation.
The information we have on this title so far indicates that it is dubbed in English. As for whether there will be subtitles, either in English or other languages, I do not have that information yet.
We definitely have the rights to this film, and it will be out sometime in November.
I really don't know what it could mean, I said ages ago that I would have thought an announcement of some sort of dub would have been at Comic Con but that didn't happen. An Aussie Eva dub would be quite hilarious, I have to say.

That was what made me think you didn't mean the American editions. Never mind. :)

I'm seriously considering studying japanese again...
That's the only way I'm ever going to be able to watch the Dirty Pair TV series I think.
I've seen that on VHS fan-sub...
I'm pretty sure you can get it from a fansub if you look (and don't mind about it). On another note, I don't even think you still can get that on something else than used VHS now...

Edit: google "torrent dirty pair tv" returned several results...

Thanks for trying to help chaos, they are all the same file (I already have it) and it's seriously the worst fansub I have ever seen. It's taken from a worn out VHS and full of compression artifacts. The subs are hard to read and it borders on unwatchable except in a very small window.

Only R2J dvds are available of the TV series (to my knowledge) And I was seriously considering buying them and attempting to sub them myself using a script. However - the series box is out of stock at yesasia, and as it's over £100 I wouldn't want to pay the taxes. Anyone know anywhere else I can get it tax free?

over a hundred quid sounds really bad... I've checked amazon.de / amazon.fr and amazon.com. With a little mix and match you could get them from there, but still it's really expensive. One volume fro 30 euros...

I can only find the Films and DP Flash on the euro amazon sites.

The Japanese box is pricey, but does include the Original Series, the OVAs and Flash though.

Yesasia ships things tax free, so if it comes back into stock I'd suggest grabbing it from there.

I bought a PS2 from them once tax free too!

Does it means they dispatch within the EU? anyway, great to know. I should browse there a bit....

I think they send stuff in bulk internationally then send on individual orders domestically. At least that's what I'm guessing 'cause postage can take a while.
