I have to admit that the moral angle doesn't particularly bother me. I don't much care about corruption or proper journalistic practices ("Camp Freddie, everybody in the world is bent!") I just happen to disagree with Murdoch's agenda. If someone were to use similar underhanded methods to further my own agenda, I'd be all for it.

I am actually slightly concerned when politicians start talking about some kind of limit to the free press because of this. This had better not do for press freedom what 9/11 did for personal freedom.

It seems somewhat janky to be against the erosion of personal freedom from one institution, but totally fine with it being disregarded by another one.
