Arc System Works, the developers of the BlazBlue an Guilty Gear beat-em-ups, have announced a new title named Xblaze and revealed a trailer.

Xblaze was announced during a special stage event at the "Blue-Revo" competition for BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 in Tokyo and is the first game in a series given the name Adventure Project. So far no platform release has been mentioned but it will be released in the winter. Arc System Works producer Toshimichi Mori also mentioned that the second game from the "Adventure Project" is in the preliminary stages.

Well I learnt absolutely nothing from that. Wonder what the hell it will be like.

I'm a bit of an Arc fanboy though so I imagine I'll buy it on day one, whatever it is...
 
The title XBlaze sounds (and looks, if those characters are anything to go by) a lot like Blazblue... Arc fighters are usually a bit too mental for me to be able to get into, though.

I'm hoping it is going to be Guilty Gear X BlazBlue.

From that teaser it looks unlikely (I would love that so much though!), unless they're adding in new characters to the mix as well.

My guess is that it's either set in some sort of weird alternate universe version of Blazblue (some of those characters bear strong resemblance to existing BB characters, so it is possible) or it's a spin off series set in the same universe.
 
My favourite Arc fighter was that one with the 3D graphics (can't remember the name now), I wish they would give that another go. Blazblue and GG are just too much for me to get my head around.
