Awesome news. Looks like something to look forward to for next year. I might have to watch previous incarnations of this to get me pumped for this one :D

Looks meh. Glassy animation, emotionless faces, action looks pointless-effects-heavy rather than involving.

*still just waiting for Redline/Berserk*

I agree. A lot of CGI/Cel-shaded anime leaves me cold. Love the music by Kenji Kawai though!!!

It's getting closer, but CGi still has a way to go before I can enjoy it without being irritated by the stiff plasticine movements of the character designs that look more like video games then movies. Therefore this and that new Appleseed CGi will be only rental worthy for me.

Yeah, Cel shaded CGI films leave me especially cold, I mean if you do it, do it big (like Spirits Within) otherwise just don't bother at all. Its funny Cel shaded graphics is something video games did just to look more like 2D anime in the first place, but now anime is using the same techniques! It is getting slightly better (especially in some of the action sequences of this trailer) but the characters look so bland and lifeless up close.

Also if this is a feature length movie by Kamiyama I really wouldn't trust it. The man is masterful at making anime series, but he clearly doesn't have a clue yet at how to handle the feature length film, this is evidenced by the Eden of East movies which were rather poor indeed IMO.
