I have already received Anime Legends: The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya and for people wondering what the packaging is like: its standard sized DVD case which has two disc overlapping each other on each side of the case.

It certainty save on space. On the subject of small DVD cases: Otogi Zoshi complete collection was released is only a slight bigger than single dvd case and that held 7 discs. It would best for complete anime box set to be released in the smallest case possible for obvious benefits it offer retailers and consumers.

I'm sure Haruhi wouldn't agree with such a minimalist approach either XP

I wouldn't expect that for a cheap re-release. But the original release also had an LE version which did come in big boxes with added CDs and other trinkets and a big art box to keep the DVDs and CDs in.

It also cost the price of a small star cruiser =P

I do feel that I've got what I've paid for though.

Beez missed a trick by not releasing two versions of AL: Haruhi, the DVD order and the "Director's Cut Order" set. IMHO.
This would mean more discs to be pressed and also re-authoring them instead of just pressing more and re-packaging the old discs.

I couldn't Imagine their would be much demand to warrant deluxe version when the people who wanted that brought the limited editions ones in the past, the market is simply not big enough to warrant that in the UK.

Recently finished watching The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya and I found the episode order some what spoil the show some what. As originally it was shown on TV in an nonlinear order while making it confusing in places it also made it more interesting and different from other shows at the time.

So If anyone is new to The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya I would recommend finding out the original TV order and watch in that order. If you don't want to go that far at least avoid watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Part 6 until last as that the is the real dramatic high the TV series ends on while episode 13 is not that.

Yeah, the non-linear TV order is the best way to enjoy the show. It might not make complete sense during it but in hindsight its the funniest way to watch it.

The novels aren't in chronological order anyway. No idea why they though the DVD order would be good. It needs to end on Melancholy 6 to have a decent end.

This is the broadcast order if anyone's interested...
