I'm certainly not saying that Revelation are going anywhere. I do think that they are living within their means though, only releasing titles when they can afford to release them.
I think they got caught out by the pace of anime at first, the bimonthly releases and the loaded schedule was extravagant. At one point in '07 they were releasing four discs a month, which I think was beyond their means. At that point they were releasing more anime than the rest of their output, and they are a boutique label with their toes in many swimming pools, not just anime. They quickly went to the two-discs a month schedule last year, and then in summer went on hiatus altogether for four months.
Also, they are essentially dictated to by sister company Funimation, and the fact that Funimation have ended exclusivity, and started licencing titles to Manga Entertainment must be an indication that Revelation just aren't set up to handle Funimation's output, especially as Funimation is the biggest anime distro in the US now.
Revelation did say last year that they will be completing most of the anime series they are releasing, they made mention of a Beck boxset specifically, and I have no doubt that they will. It's just at the pace they are going, it will be 2011/12 before they are through, and with serial shows like Suzuka and Beck, that's intolerable.
Also that 'most' was significant. It implies that some series won't be completed. Maybe they'll do a Manga and go straight to boxset, but I have my concerns over School Rumble and Hell Girl, both of which are only halfway through, concerns that will only be allayed by a release date.
