EOTE has some killer boxart, might check out the series as everyone keeps making a fuss over it, as for Gunparade March I've never heard of it, but it looks intriguing

Yeah check out the series Memorium, it's ace. Don't just watch Air Communication... it's not so ace.
Unfortunately King of Eden was a huge let down for me, its more like the first part of a two part TV special than a proper movie. I know no one will do this, but my advice to Eden fans is to not watch the King of Eden now and wait until the next movie is released and then watch both together, it will be more satisfying that way, providing the conclusion is a good one of course.

I thought the movies were a bit of a let down compared to the series. I don't mean specifically the ending, which I won't comment on. But I'll get them anyway.

I have (and already very much enjoyed) the imported version of the EotE movie. I also have the previous UK release of Gunparade March, bought more out of seiyuu fandom than a belief that I'd enjoy it, so this is a quiet week for me. Next week looks better :3

Seeing as King of Eden doesn't resolve anything, I'll wait until the second movie is out and buy them together.

Before that, of course, I have to watch the TV series.

Yeah this is what I should have done. King of Eden from what I remember just introduces a couple new characters and themes but doesn't actually enlighten us to many of the mysteries that I was pondering since the series ended and had hoped it would answer. It pretty much just gave me more questions, and since I saw it in the cinema I couldn't really even keep track of certain things such as the whole Prime minister's son, illegitimate son thing . It seemed to move too fast and explain things in too much of a rush, despite the fact that hardly anything of any consequence happens.

All of this isn't really bad in itself, but its a bit annoying when you have to wait who knows how long for the next part. I just think they should have made it a twenty four ep series rather than bother making it this way.

Gunparade March sounds a tad like NGE, definitely going to check it out... when I have the time!

Not really that similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion I am afraid. A more of a slice of life drama with mecha vs massive alien creatures. The closest Anime I can think of which reflect the action side would be a toned down version of Blue Gender.
