Already own the Funi bds for Railgun. The rest are not a priority.
Mangaranga said:I also really want Jojo but there's so many things wrong with the release that it feels like buying it would be doing a complete disservice to anime buyers in general. Warner have shown that they just don't get the anime release format. Buying this cheap, shoddy, borderline bootleg DVD set missing something as basic as a proper translation for the Japanese track (which already exists might I add) sends the message that this sort of release is okay, and I'm not okay with supporting that.
Lutga said:Let's be honest here too - hundreds of people will buy this DVD and not give a crap about the quality issues. We're the hardcore that care about that stuff. Just as there's probably people out there that have been buying Manga's Naruto DVDs since 2006 and probably only ever watch it dubbed, there'll be people who see this and just think it's a bargain.
Also, the U.S. Release is identical, no? So not sure where the value would come there? Well, aside from the PAL speedup I suppose.
As I understand it, Railgun is a bit different to Index. Depending on what you didn't like about Index, you might find Railgun more enjoyable. I don't know how likely that is though, it might be worth checking some reviews to see what the differences are likely to be.Rui said:Not getting Railgun because I didn't enjoy Index.

There is so much anime out there that you cannot be expected to like everything regardless of quality. For my sins I have watched one episode each of Gankutsouo and Bakemonogatari. I did not really enjoy them so I have not watched any more of either of them.Rui said:Smeelia said:As I understand it, Railgun is a bit different to Index. Regrettably what I disliked about Index was 'everything' - I didn't like a single character. So I doubt that Railgun could save it for me even if it has a considerably better set of theme songs
(I was pretty disappointed since the series had a great reputation and I bought the BD sets. Oh well.)
