What do people like about it?

My ex made me sit through 4 hours of it and i found it really boring, nothin special happend, and the storyline wasn't exactly worth the time to follow,

Dunno if it was just me feeling that way, would like to know other peoples views

I find funny. And exciting. And interesting.
Though i must say. The anime really doesnt do it justice. The manga is much better quality.

Everything Ken Akamatsu does is almost exactly the same in tone and style....I just happen to like that style. It's just gentle harem comedy normally with a touch of "something" else thrown in depending on the setting of the manga.

If you didn't like it then avoid Love Hina and A.I. Love You.

I think it's terrible but then I don't like the genre much to begin with. Even watching trailers for it makes me irritable. I'm far from the target audience of Negima and it shows.

I do like Akamatsu's delightful, soft artwork though so maybe if your ex used the manga to reel you in first there'd be a better chance of you enjoying it.

Hmm, well I'm a big fan of the mangas... The animes of Ken Akamatsu's... I usually found it degraded the mangas quite a bit. The storylines become mix, cut or generally confusing, and I end up ripping my hair out at this "crime against comics."

I'f I just watch the show for each episode rather than a series, I can live with Negima, at times find it funny. But dont expect loyalty to Ken's amazing work in storylines at most points.

I wasn't sure if it was just me that thought it was a dull bore, but it turns out everyone so far agree's. im just abit annoyed that she wasted 4 hours of my life watching that rubbish T_T why couldn't she use my time doing something more productive.

I feel like I could write an essay on this.

Do I like Negima? Yes

The main problem was when Xebec created the anime adaption, the story, the animations, the characters, and the fanservice was all butchered! And only produced just 26 episodes (also the last few episodes xebecs wanted an anime ending instead).

All I am going to say to this is that I am looking forward to the Negima ala alba ova series.

The dubbed anime wasn't exactly favourable....the welsh guy didn't sound welsh at all, it was like listening to a small animal with a cold.

I do remember one thing thats very important.....never watch it with a girlfriend and say "the fanservice is crap....im bored" because you will probably end up being hit :/

Compared to Ikki Tousen, Negima is boring as hell.

Same here, except replace "like" with "dislike".
That's about all there is to it, really. Like they say, there's no accounting for taste.

There's too many female characters...the whole thing got totally diluted, especially with rubbish like robots and vampires.

I don't hate it, but I think it could have been better.

*Shakes Tachi's hand* Thank you for not making me feel 10cm. ;)

 No probs

but compaired to Ikki Tousen, Negima doesn't make you feel like a closet pervert either

You sure your not just saying that bcause chaz is here? :p

plus, we all know we love Ikki Tousen for the storyline and meaning behind each fight  not the fan service :p

I've never seen the anime, but I find the Negima manga fun to read. I liked the Love Hina anime, but I prefer what I've read of the manga. Oh and I have Ikki tousen on DVD, and collect the manga.

Tis fun being a pervert

The thing about negima is that some people think that its all about fanservice when its not, its about the story of Negi looking for who is searching to find his father.. If you read the later manga volumes you would all realise that Negima has a very good story and the latest chapters of the manga looks like it came from a shonen genre like DBZ, naruto, Bleach or even Soul Eater. Basically the fanservice is secondary similer to errr... code geass you can say.
It kinda reminds me of Tenchi OVA sometimes (Harem, spinoffs, action, layed back sometimes).
