Naruto Graphic Novel Boxset (1-27)

It just occurred to me, 'Death Note Volume 13: How To Read' and the Death Note Novel aren't out yet, No doubt they'll be included in the unforeseen box set.

I actually really want this set now! I know it's reasonably priced (€80 doesn't seem so bad, but the price isn't confirmed yet, right?)

I expect the next box set Death Note if anything, due to the same OTT popularity that NARUTO has; and its only 12 tankobons.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd get a Death Note version because I've seen the anime and both are very similiar, I've heard.

I'd say overall that the manga has the edge over the anime or at least from what i've read so far. For one the potential for yoai pairings isn't apparently played into as much as it is in the anime.

Why is this in a anime forum? Shouldn't it be in the manga forum?

Eh, so? The 'potential' for yaoi pairings exists wherever there are pretty guys and I'm pretty sure there are pretty guys in Death Note. Anyway, remind me why the lack of mere potential for yaoi pairings makes the manga worthwhile when I've already seen the anime .... ?

Here we go again.

I'm just saying that the yoai potential in the anime was played on more then it was in the manga. That's all.

I found the manga to have the upper hand also, I couldn't really say why to be honest. I think how the plot played out is much to do with the timing, And I read that better in the manga more so than the anime. The manga and anime are 99.2% the same though. I guess its personal opinions.

On a side note, Most manga purchased is because of anime seen beforehand. XD

The tennis match did seem more tense in it's manga form as well.

It just hit me about how big that Naruto boxset would actually be. I could see that costing about £30+ for customs charges or something stupid.

Not sure why people are getting excited about this? It's a big item and way over the customs limit...

I do REALLY want it after reading from Kakashi Gaiden - 373 today, though.

Amazon.co.uk are selling it for £84 - Not far off having half of the Amazon.com price added on. I'm guessing this is because they're importing and paying the customs charges?

Ugh, customs charges :/

Has any of the Naruto manga been released in the UK?

The lack of potential for yaoi pairings was, like, the main response you gave for why the manga is worthwhile, when one has already seen the anime. That is seriously weird, Sy - you can't even handle potential homoeroticsm?

Yeah, some company has been importing and sticking new barcodes on them. Aside from that, you can get American volumes from any comic book shop and most book shops, if you have sense.

Yes, I can. But in the case of the Death Note anime it's not needed to enhance the story or characters and is just played on to pander to certain parts of the fanbase. Since you've already seen the anime version why not go for the manga version instead if you're thinking of picking up the series in some form? It's an overall good adaption but some things just seemed to work better on paper.

You want to drag this out or can we leave it at that?
