Accoridng to an early listing on the HMV.com website, UK anime publisher's MVM have snapped up J.C.Staff's Daphne In The Brilliant Blue and will be releasing the first DVD volume on the 3rd of November. The series is a 24 episode ecchi ("lewd", "sexy", "lascivious", or "naughty") comedy from 2004 aimed at the seinen (adult male) audience.

out of interest, have either of you 2 actually seen any of the show? or just assuming it's crap cause it's ecchi?

And for the record, i'm not defending the show at all, i've not seen it myself.

I smiled at "naughty".

Had a look around for info...sounds alright, so I'll probably get the first DVD at least.

November seems like ages away, but time seems to be flying...

.

I've seen parts and I don't get it... I'm just more prone and put off to that kind of stuff. As I say, I don't get pointless fanservice and 'slutty' women in any kind, if it's music, games, films, anime, etc.

There's a limited amount of tolerance I can handle to that sort of stuff.

I have the series already and have to say it has a good story line. You do have to put up with women in pretty skimpy clothes, but I don’t think it is any worse than other shows aimed at a slightly older audience. And if you take the clothes as a sort of uniform for the company there is probably less out and out fanservice than many shows.

Boss what do we do anime DVD sales are down

Boss reply-sex sells
Yeah, besides the obvious answer. But I guess Amazon does that part for me.

That said, I heard this series is a bit "Meh" regardless of it's content.

Hate the character designs and have never heard anything about this which makes me want to watch it so I'll chalk it up to being something I'm not in the target audience for and wait for the next announcement :)

And I LOVE ecchi most of the time, to counter conspiracy theories. I even liked Eiken.

Yes, just what anime in the UK needs is more bolstering that it's mostly smut.
Oh Bah, they'd take anything with Bond level nudity and go off the deep end.

Suprised FMP didn't cause an utter riot what with the whole guns in school deal.

True but unfortunately we live in a culture that has the atitude that "cartoons are for kids, and if they're not then they're for pervs", and this will just throw yet another log on that fire.
