UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

Given that this series is apparently available to stream via HiDive and buy through Amazon, what is the point of the BBFC in this instance? To protect the few hundred people who'd have bought the series on disc? Oh wait, an easily obtainable disc in English already exists 🥴

Was wondering about this as it had been a while since there was an update but Immoral Guild, according from MVM directly, has been cancelled, presumably due to extensive enough cuts being required by the BBFC.

Not seen it personally but I always wonder about how the BBFC work with regards to ecchi series? Seems like most of the time there released uncut fine but then you'll get something like this. Again I appreciate it might get a better understanding if I actually watched the series in question.

The female character's are not consenting to the attacks and as you can imagine from the voice acting, getting pleasure from it. That could be part of it.
Lots of boobs, although that's not always an issue.

I always hark back to Triage X which got an 18.
In the final episode or OVA, the female cast are topless in a hot spring. In the pop up info re each character one is clearly stated to be 14.

Well it just occurred to me rather than speculating maybe we should kindly ask @MVM if they are aloud/can talk about what the problem was specifically with regards to cut's needed for this title?
It basically would have cost far more to get all the cuts made, which would have then made some scenes/story look out of place to make you think "am I missing something etc", then to get the discs remastered, re-approved and resubmitted. It would have been a very costly headache to sort out so was just easier to cancel altogether.

Are you able to go into detail about what shots the BBFC (assuming this is to do with them) objected too. Also with regard to ecchi's I always get the impression that many are passed by the BBFC uncut but given you would know more than me is that normally the case or do the BBFC make objections to the point we have the same situation here of a title just not being released and we the regular public just never hear about it?
