Anybody taking an interest at PAX Prime 2012 will be aware of the flood of news coming from Konami and Hideo Kojima himself. Well a trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes was screened for a private audience at the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary celebration and here it is.

One of the biggest titles at the show, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes takes place after Peace Walker and is a prologue to MGS5. It is running on the Konami’s new game engine called the Fox Engine which is expected to see action on current and next-gen console hardware and there is the possibility that it will be used on other franchises like Silent Hill. The game itself is an open world game which will be released on current generation consoles.

The first unextended trailer was pretty worthless, and played out like a tech demo. It was 9 minutes of cutscene (in-game, sure, but still cutscene) and 40 seconds gameplay (standard MGS breakdown, amirite folks?). However, the new extended trailer has 4 minutes of gameplay and it's looking pretty great. I look forward to this new take on MGS.
