Manga want to know what you want in 2015... Be nice...

I certainly noticed the difference in Internet speeds when I was at my parents' in the country over Christmas compared to my flat in the city. 720p Crunchyroll was unusable, and even 480p struggled in the evenings so I had to watch stuff during the day.

At this point "To go away" is about the nicest thing I can say.

They're a relic from a time when one needed to own stuff on Disc and needed to get it transcribed from NTSC to PAL (Not that that wasn't a load of dingo's kidneys for about 99.9% of the populace). I don't want to own all of dragonball / z / gt (Kai I wouldn't mind but it'd need to be a perfect transfer and Manga isn't in the business of that), I want to be able to stream that at my convenience (ditto one piece, they can keep Naurto and Bleach) and, frankly, Manga stand in the way of that happening.

If I want cheep, I have MVM, if I want Limited Edition on a Miyamoto Timeframe, I have AL. Manga has no market with me.

Raildex.

In fact, for every anime company reading this: Raildex.
In fact, for even non-anime companies reading this: Raildex. Yes British Gas, I will convert my coverage to you if you can license and release Raildex.

No one in the UK is licensing Raildex......accept it

People saying the future is digital really need to take into account what utter garbage the internet speeds are in a lot of the country & other countries.

This x 1,000.

I live in an area where atrocious connectivity is the norm. Only a couple of mile up the road from me is a burough where NOTHING works as far as internet access is concerned.

I wouldn't begrudge streaming as an option for those who want it, because I can see the convenience aspect of it. But physical releases will always be king for me. Nothing beats being able to slap a nice shiny DVD or BD in the player and watch a show as and when you want.

So, pretty much, that's my answer to the question 'what do you want in 2015' - just more physical releases. Keep 'em coming!

(And maybe a little retro anime as well. Ahem.)

Oh, and if Manga Entertainment were to put out Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex on BD, I'd buy it without reservation. That's a modern classic that deserves a definitive, glitch free HD re-release.

Ahem.

Not until I have the money to buy FUNimation's releases. Until then, the dream will live on.

Between the choice of crapy PAL DVDS and not at all, I'd rather burn it all into the ground, frankly speaking.

Manga are not producing quality product, they're farting out quantity and not even that.

Manga can't license Raildex - Starz would have to provide too much business sensitive information to Comcast/NBC/Universal/Geneon to even begin making a contract, and outside of anime they're competitors so they're not going to do that.

I believe it's due to up-the-ladder corporate niggles like this that lead to Animatsu happening in the first place, especially give the close ties they've kept to Manga.

Oh yeah, I remember all that jazz 9.9

I'm just going to lay out my money at the end of a snail race track and whichever company reaches the finishing line by licensing the series that should have been out here years ago, gets the money. As I said, I'll even accept a British Gas release at this point.

On Raildex: I think if it does finally come out in the UK, it will be DVD only. Especially after Funimation's impressions on how well it sold.

I think that was pretty down to the fact that everyone wanted a Blu-ray release so they waited hence it sold poorly on DVD. The same went for Future Diary as well. What they said on the podcast didn't specify clearly on whether it was just the DVD sets or the BD/DVD combo packs and I can't think they would reference the combo packs when they just got released (especially with Railgun Season 1 which is out this month).

True, but I imagine plenty of people who waited for Blu-Rays ended up moving on after not seeing a Blu-Ray. Or they could have been talking about season 2, which would be incredibly dumb (and not unlike Funi at times) as plenty wouldn't pick those up until they had the previous two series first. As they did mention season 2 being Blu-Ray due to fan feedback when mentioning the show underperforming.

Also, the US Blu-Rays are so cheap (Effectively £20 for the total season) on Index and Railgun Season 1's, so think that would put off most besides Anime Limited who by going for a collectors edition could make it viable.

I want Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison on Blu-Ray WITHOUT having to buy the boxset

You can. Either get the US version or if you can't play A locked discs then look to Australia, Madman has released it on Blu-ray.

I'd honestly rather not import
