Manga delay Karas, cancel individual volumes of Tokko, Noein

A bunch of box sets from Manga have appeared on Play.com. At the same time the remaining inividual volumes of Tokko and Noein have disappeared from their release schedule. Someone over at animeondvd asked Manga's PR Company about this and got the reply:

Manga are changing some of their titles to box sets and I should ahve more info through soon.

It looks like that anyone wanting to get the rest of either series will have to buy the box set.

What the hell? Just when you think Manga are improving they kick you in the balls! So this means you'd have to buy Karas as a boxset instead of just buying the second and may I add FINAL volume? This just seems stupid to me and a real bitch to the people who have stayed loyal to them despite their faults. They did the same thing with Heat Guy J.

What? Oh, screw you Manga. Looks like there's no point buying single DVD releases from them if they're gonna just stop halfway. Unprofessional.

Yeah, that is pointless. It's good to see companies discovering that there's money in boxsets, but to go this far is abusing their paying customers.

v_v What is up with Manga. I seriously want to go into they're offices and bat them all. Not only do they Dubtitle they're disks and produce generally poor quality stuff but now they shoot themselves in the foot again >_<

If they're going to do this, then they'd be better off focusing on boxsets entirely! This is really unprofessional of them (which is to be expected, I guess). Only Karas affects me.

If they don't just release the second volume of KARAS on it's own then they have the toally wrong mindset. Most people will have bought the first volume on it's own given that it's always cheap to get hold of and got some good promotion. Other people just might not bother with a boxset when they find out they alreay own the first half.

Totally agree! I would have bought the second part of Karas on it's own as soon as it came out, but now that I'll have to re-buy the first version again, I'm re-considering it! Manga Ent. are clueless! :(

I really cant BELIEVE this.
Has to be the most unproffesional decision Ive heard of in a long time.
Only today I bought volume 2 of NOEIN and now I cant believe Im gonna have to re-buy 1 and 2, I really cant believe it.

And FRIKIN KARAS.
This wont affect me but correct me if Im wrong in assuming that its only 2 volumes long.
Why not just release the 2nd volume standalone.
Really dropped the ball on this one manga.

Make the prices and ep-counts more on par with the Naruto Unlseashed Releases and we might just talk.

This is a bit excessive.

Then again, why do I feel the BBFC Conspercy is behind this?

Manga messes up again... But if you look on the bright side of it, the boxset is cheaper than buying the rest of the singles... so there's no problem here really.

There was only one volume of Tokko left to release as well. I wonder if this means Otogi Zoshi is canned too.

I got my 6th and final Otogi Zoshi single vol today so that's safe.

Karas might be safe since play.com still has the seperate part 2 listed *fingers crossed*

I'm annoyed since I've got Noein 1-3 and was thinking of just waiting till it was al released before buying it  This had made me never want to buy anything except boxsets from Manga or to just import (trying to talk my brother to go R1 for Bleach incase they mess that up)

The more I think about this, the more I'm disgusted by it. The people that have supported Manga, have given their hard earned cash to them, have done so even though they could just as easily have downloaded these series from the internet. Is this Manga's way of saying "thanks" or something?! :[

No it does not. Manga are releasing that box set at the same time to the second volume. At no point in my post did I say they had cancelled Karas.

Otogi Zoshi is safe too, despite Play having stock issues with it, it was released on time several weeks ago.

This is unacceptable though. I for one do not plan on only ever buying box sets of Manga releases in the future, anything else is just too risky.

Edit: Just to remove any confusion I've added Karas part 2 to the list of releases and edited the thread title.
