'Tis quite and amazing line up for next year!
Glad to see that anime is picking up again in the UK =)
Indeed. There's more there that looks like it will appeal to a UK audience than there has been for a while. Definate pick-ups for me will be Tiger & Bunny, Journey of Lost Children who Chase Deep Voices from Below to Agartha, Wolf Children and Hellsing Ultimate, with plenty more to consider. Jormungand and Kids on the Slope will really be dependant of format, as I imagine they'll both get the BD treatment Stateside.

Would love to support MVM's release of Canaan, but I already imported the Sentai BD. Time between international releases continues to be one of the UK industry's biggest obstacles to getting my money.

If this was supposed to be a list of new licenses, then a few of these should probably be removed as they have been announced in the past. ~

Canaan = 18th February
Needless = Part 1 out on 9th January and Part 2 on 4th February.

But yeah, a lot of these were reconfirmations of previous acquisitions. Which is why I was kind of disappointed by the panel.

More of a list of everything they announced at Expo, rather than new licenses only.

Some good stuff! I liked Ga Rei Zero but not enough to buy it again since I already own the blu ray but there's a good few things on that list i'll be getting.

Wait... how feasible is it to get Animax licenses? Much as I'd like to have Nodame Cantabile on DVD, I'm not so sure if Kaze have the Money/Influence to obtain such a license.

Hmm, was going to import Hellsing this month, but I honestly think I can wait until May for the UK BD's.
It would almost certainly be cheaper, which is why I thinking of cancelling my order with UP for 5-8 (I'd planned on picking up 1-4 at a later date). Thing is, I've been looking forward to more Hellsing, so I dunno. The UK industry really needs to find a way to bring their releases closer to those in the US.

I was at the Live Podcast and couldn't help but laugh when Jerome announced it, as I had literally just bought the import from the UP1 stall.

For me it's one of those shows I really want to watch, but at the same time I want to support UK Blu-Ray releases.

Also, the fact is parts 9 and 10 won't be out any time soon, so there's gonna be some waiting for me in terms of finishing the show completely, so 5 months to wait ti start isn't too long....... :p

my my my look at all those series waiting for me to order

i tried to use a gif but it wont work WHY? I tried a few times to put a youtube video on here too but no it will not work

Not very, hence it being "unrealistic".

As he says.

Scribbling on a note pad at a panel underscores my view anime titles are too confusing

It was nice to hear more Special Edition releases are coming for titles.

Sorry for the bump, but just bought a Makoto Shinkai artbook off ebay so that I can appreciate the beauty of his films even more and I came across this.

edit- Pic is too huge, so just check this link

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hoshi-Kodomo-Ch ... 883&sr=1-4

Please Kaze, you know you want to mimic this release......

The beauty of Amazon - replace the last number of an image with the size you want the image to be and voila!

It's a shame we didn't even get the extras from the US release of Hoshi no Koe and Place Promised (booklets and CDs).
Considering Shinkai is a niche within a niche, I'm happy for having them released here.
Also, have to come here and rub the fact I've met him twice already =P
