How big is your manga collection?

I dont think luck has anything to do with it. I suspect Akaihane got his collection the same way any big manga fan did: saving it up and buying it.

Must sort out my own stuff sometime (shelves needs a cleanup anyway) and list it here.

I've been reading manga for over six years, so that's part of it. And thankfully I'm out of uni and have jobs, so I can finally buy a lot of the stuff :D

Ah, gah, why do people keep thinking I'm a guy

I've only got like 6 different series' of Manga at the moment since I'm not much of a collector to be honest, but I do enjoy the ones I have so far. I'm pressed for time (late for work) so I can't list them now but to put it simply 95% of it is from Tokyopop with a couple from Darkhorse and that's it.

Woo, just filled my whole bookcase with manga, i've been aiming for it, but now of course i have no place to put new manga and all my other books are on the floor, lol

Haven't been reading it as long, but being paid properly helps a lot.

Because the forum doesn't allow you to set your gender in your profile.

i think its lucky cause i dont get pocket money so buying them is difficult especially since i live far from the shops

And as I said, theres no luck involved. Being employed with a decent enough job to afford anime/manga as a hobby, basically involves work and applying yourself. Luck wouldn't have got me the job I have or had, only education and relevant experience. Luck is not a component in my salary, which allows me to collect anime/manga (and all the other stuff that I need/want to buy)

Online options solve the issue of not living near any good shops.

Sounding like a complete old man here I guess, but if you don't have any money, go make some. While there's restrictions on working for minors, last time I checked, lawns still need to be cut, kids babysat and shops still need casual labour.

Considering the series you listed I'm kinda surprised he thought you were a guy, but anyway...

It's been a while since I counted them sooo...

GTO 1-25 (complete)
Nausicaa 1-7 (complete)
Saikano 1-7 (complete)
Rurouni Kenshin 1-25
Fruit's Basket 1-13
Berserk 1-3
Blade of the Immortal 1-2
Death Note 1

Hmmm, 83, not bad, especially considering I'm really picky about what series I start to collect. I've saved up enough cash for another load at amazon too, so as soon as I have an address to send it to I should have a load more  .

maybye but i have already thought of a part time job that i would LOVE do to but i think you have to be 17 before you can get one? so ive got another year to wait so until then i shall continue doing stuff around the house for money

Depends on the country, but AFAIK minors (i.e. under-17s) can do part time work in a limited capacity. Total weekly hours are restricted, the number of hours you can work in an evening is restricted, and you can't work beyond a certain time at night. I also believe there is special restrictions for schoolnights and your parent or guardian's permission may be needed.

You will find the exact information somewhere on your government's website, or possibly though the social welfare office, or whatever it's equivalent is called where you are from.

Besides that, there is a lot of ways to make money casually. If you got any skill at web design/IT stuff you might find relatives and family friends willing to pay you for a few hours work. Just make sure you get them to pay you by hour and give them a time estimate for the completed work - thats some IT guy advise right there - don't write a blank cheque for your time.

I've not done the maths to to get the total number of volumes. I'm too scared.
Using the trustly Windows calculator it comes to 91

Recent additions have pushed that total beyond 100. No more completed or up to date series, although I expect to catch up with or complete Bleach, Naruto, DNAngel and Candidate for Goddess by the end of the year, but three more first volumes.
