Hi.

RustyXIV

Completely Average High School Student
I'm Rusty.

I'm an English student living in Scotland who happens to read manga in my spare time. My favourites include: Darker than Black, Fullmetal Alchemist (Which was my introduction to manga in 2003), Black Cat and a few others.

Most of my friends aren't interested in this kinda stuff so I thought I'd join a place where I could discuss it. :)

... And in doing so, you've made a great decision to let yourself be known. :)

Glad to have ya on-board. FMA's a great intro to anime.

Thanks for the welcome. :)

Accidentally stumbled upon the original anime years back and eventually read the manga and preferred it. Was glad the storyline got properly exposed through Brotherhood.

Wait. When you say you're an English student in Scotland, do you mean a student OF English or a student who IS English. Just wanna get the facts straight ;)

Quite quite.
If the latter applies, does one manage to reap the benefits of the Scottish student financing system, or is one still bound to the woes of the English service?

I was hoping no-one noticed that. :p

I'm studying it as a subject, I was born and raised in Scotland.

Zelgadis, I'm in college just now but once I finish HNC it'll allow me to go straight into third-year university.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. :)

Ah, another person up here in bonnie scotland. Welcome regardless.

So what part of English is it you're doing out of interest(Yes, tis an actual interest)? I know a couple who are doing English Lit in Uni and some others touching on other bits, so just wondered which area you be working in mainly.

i highly recommend you look into Darker Than Black's second series and the OVAs if you are interested as well, they are quite good, and do well to continue with the world after the first one. OVAs more so though.

Heh, welcome. It's quite rare to see so many DTB fans in a single place (except for dedicated communities of course). Almost makes me want to swap favourites.

I've always wanted to become a novelist or photographer. (Of landscapes and such, not paparazzi.) Also, it was my best subject at school so it seemed like a good choice. Studying at my local college, James Watt but I hope to enroll in Edinburgh university after this year is completed.

I've watched the OVA's so far, and they're fantastic. It feels just like the first season in terms of atmosphere. As for Gemini of the Meteor, I watched that too. I didn't mind it too much as Suou wasn't that bad and it gave chance for Hei to be shown from another's perspective - while still kicking ass. (kinda like MGS2) The ending however... is a different question altogether.

Once again, thanks for the welcomes :)

A just choice. Unlike celebrities, landscapes cannot escape the focus of one's lens quite so easily. (That said, the Paparazzi in the West End had access to motorised scooters to aid their pursuits.)

I knew somebody who went off to the University of Edinburgh. He owned a yellow raincoat, and I once semi-accidentally broke his index finger. (I claimed it was "accidental" without qualification to the headmaster, and thus managed to avoid receiving any discipline.)

Welcome to the well oiled AUKN Rusty. Looks like you have plenty of awesome anime's to experience in your future.
See you around the forum. ^__^

On another note, I've just started watcing FMA:B. I'm 12 episodes in and loving it. :D

Was about to say another local to Edinburgh, but James Watt isn't here but in Inverclyde isn't it? or is it in multiple areas? Regardless, i did the same, i entered Heriot-Watt uni because maths was my best subject at school, hah, obviously not now at Uni, but i'm 3 years in, so i can't complain.

Yeah, season 2 was very much enjoyable, and i don't mind the end for it does open up a third season, but it was rather...meh, to say the least. Looking forward to the final OVA anyways, should be out this month, can't wait.
