The reason they have removed the dubs for some shows is due to low sales, not the other way around.

Taking out content will not gain them any extra sales, and therefore will not make any attempt to reverse the decline in sales.

Nor did the inclusion of dubs prevent sales declining in the first place.

Bottom line is this: a company can either make money with a sub only release of a title with limited appeal, or lose money by dubbing it and end up going out of business.

Mutsumi, do you actually read the posts you're replying to, or just type up your own "opinion" with no regard for anything else?

I'd just rather they found another way tbh. Rather they found a way to increase sales rather than reduce costs and content. If they do not find ways to increase sales, they are really only prolonging the decline.

Given that 'fans' currently have the choice of 'get it free right now' or 'wait and pay' and that true fandom is defined by constantly saying how much you hate dubs its no wonder that sales are down.

There is no 'true fandom'. Someone who only watches shows subbed and buys the Japanese DVDs is no better a fan than the person who only watches English dubs, though the former is more likely to be seen trolling their views in order to reassure themselves in their own mind that they are a 'proper' fan and that anyone different is not. All fans are equal. All fans are different. Fans who think they are better than others are less equal than the other fans though. :>

Now, my views on the topic are pretty clear. I understand that the anime market is in decline, but I would rather see efforts to reverse that trend than see this 'admission of defeat' that is the cost cutting measures of content removal from some releases. That is pretty much what I've been saying in a nutshell.
