Despite some reservations about where the plot is going and any romantic pursuits it has in mind, I find myself thinking fondly of Grand Blue Dreaming. With its anime now airing, this is a good a time as any to jump on board this wacky comedy!

I think that Grand Blue Dreaming definitely has potential, but I think its future success depends on if it can keep the plot and humor interesting and fresh. I've gotta agree with you that I'm also dropping it if the romance continues further with either of the cousins....
If you're interested in trying out any more comedy/slice-of-life esque series, I definitely recommend Roommate 101. It's about a guy who runs away from home to become a teacher, and ends up living in a home that one of his student's own. There's a pretty interesting dynamic between the characters, and it's managed to stay consistently interesting through its updates.

There is no incest to be found here. Iori's father was adopted into the family. It was mentioned in passing on one of the chapters and the recent chapter confirms it with a full family tree. Here is a simplified version of the diagram that tells you what you need to know.

Also cousins are completely legal here in the UK let alone Japan which, according to Wikipedia, incest is legal between consenting adults although the link in the source is now dead so may be out of date.

So then it comes down to your own moral code. I personally wouldn't with my cousins, but I wouldn't begrudge a fictional character having a fictional romance that was legal!

I just wanted to pop in and say that I never said the relationship was incest (although I guess I might have implied it), just that I personally didn't like it. Knowing Iori is adopted (although volume 1 never mentioned it so I had no idea) lifts my concerns somewhat, but given they've been raised as family it's still a bit 'ehhh' to me.

It's just a personal preference thing and the reason I didn't go hard on the 'it's incest, it must burn!' is because I do feel like these kinds of relationships can be written well and there are times I'm okay with them. Grand Blue just isn't one of them, but it wasn't even just because they're related (adopted or otherwise), but simply because I don't think the series was doing a good job at making me want to back the relationship.
