Moathouse hotel in Northampton if where I'd recommend. Ayacon was once held there, so many anime peoples will be familiar with the area.

Thanks for the suggestion, but being a new convention we are trying to set up somewhere that hasn’t had one before, we are waiting for a quote back from a hotel as we speak ^_^

JAKEMAN, mate you have to a retard or something, EVERYONE knows where Nottingham is, its where William Tell  used to live. If I have to give you history lessons again I'm going to kick yo' ass.

Robin Hood lived in Sherwood Forest, which is in Nottinghamshire :x I know that cos I lived right next to it once upon a time. £40 is a little too steep for me...

Thanks for the info and I might go since Nottingham isn't far from where I live, but £40!!! sign... can't afford it.

£40 is what most conventions charge you.

Yeah I know
The AmeCon charges £40 too, but in my opinion its abit too pricey ><" I mean I only get about £10 a week and its all been spent on food, transport etc... which makes me struggle to get £40 ><"

What I cannot grasp is how the hell you can announce an event, and price and date, whilst having your venue still as unconfirmed?!

The date is usually fixed after negoiations with the hotel, and prices usually come a few months later when you have an idea of the overall costs involved and the money you need from attendance (as well as estimated attendance figures) to calculate the per person minium charge - then you either increase or decrease said charge depending on the over costs - things like accomodation and whatnot.

I think you are being quite reckless and premature about your announcement, as much as I would love to see another con in England - you should have waited a few months more to get certain things confirmed.

Here is some more information on the convention

We will be holding it at the Britannia Hotel in Nottingham.

Registrations open 1st June 2006, there will be 2 options

1) Full payment

2) Instalment payment, the instalments will be as follows Deposit of £20 then 2 x £10

Look for more information on this when registrations open in June

Sorry for the lack of information but life and a bad illness have taken me down for a good few weeks ^_^

Sorry about double post but its over a month apart ^_^

Registrations open 1st June 2006

Due to complications with the bank we are now opening Registrations on July 1st 2006 sorry for the cange of date.

The payment options and everything else remains unchanged.

Whooo triple posting like the bad / sad ass I am (your choice there).

Well after a superhuman effort by some of the committee I am pleased to announce registrations are now open.

Registration was due to open at the end of the month but a few committee members made a huge effort over the past few days to get it open sooner

To register you can go to http://www.fuyucon.org/registration.php

FuyuCon is also proud to announce we have a guest; Helen McCarthy will be appearing at FuyuCon, for a full Biography go to http://www.fuyucon.org/guests.php

Take it easy and see you there
