FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: The greatest story ever told. Re-told.

The transmutation circle is already on his glove, and his hand just activates that. Mustang uses his fingers to activate the alchemical circles on his glove, too.

Yes, I was going to ask about Mustang also. I thought it easier to ask about Armstrong alone since the answer for one will give me the answer for both.

...I get it now. Because skin is in contact with the metal gloves Armstrong uses and the rubber gloves Mustang uses, they're already connecting with the circle before doing anything, underside or not. It doesn't matter about if an alchemist is touching the circle with their fingers or what the circle is drawn on. So simple yet, for some reason, it didn't click until I read the two sentences above.

Cheers - I now understand and something so simple can stop bugging me.

Mustang rubs his fingers together to create a spark from his gloves to ignite the gubbins that he has alchemy-ized (my better word for "transmuted"), the gloves are made of a material specific for that purpose, not rubber.

Lol @ CitizenGeek using big words to explain his answer.

Gonna watch episode 6 in a minute, will edit my post once I've seen it. Brb.

I've just watched the new opening and ending themes. This new series, at the very least, has openings and closings that are more visually impressive than the previous series.

Edit: Here's the new ending. It doesn't really support my point--but I love the song.

Yes, the Chinese people are in it now, finally. I just saw the second opening, it made me feel something for FMA I haven't felt since 2006, the one part in the opening were the Furher was fighting Ling and his subordinates was pretty win, the whole Scar/Ed DBZ thing at the end though... what? Don't like the ending, too slow.

in b4 mr. wapanese

I need to finish Hajime 2, catch-up with this & Phantom AND start S&W 2 (after rewatching S1) & Tokyo Magnitude. I'm too lazy. :(

Still behind on FMA:BH, though I'm enjoying it a great deal more than I expected - I figured I'd end up comparing it every step of the way to the previous series, but it seems to do a remarkably good job of holding it's own. The key points of the plot are still covered, but the slight alterations made prevent it from boring those who've seen the last series.

Things like the comedy aspects still feel a bit off, but that's nitpicking. At this rate it could all shape up to be a worthwhile remake afterall.

Mmm, the opening definetely rekindled what I loved about the original FMA. Now I can't wait to see Ling and his 2 body gaurds come into the series... I'm looking forward to hearing his voice, anyway!

While I'm anticipating the new manga content I find much less emotion attached to this then in the original series. Hughes death, which I just watched, just didn't do it for me at all while it made me tear up in both the manga and the original anime. And I don't think that it's because I saw it coming, it was just handled poorly.

I will admit, that hughes death weren't as moving as it was in the original FMA, but that's because most events so far in the new series have been rushed, just untill it's settled in deep in the manga version of the story.

Woah, woah, apparently Lin's being voiced by Light Yagami's Seiyu... I'm looking forward to this!
Ugh, low-tier seiyuu who has the same voice in like every role. Japanese Johnny Yong Bosch with the ultimate teen angst voice. "MATSUDAAAAAA" Despite this he was decent, but I swear if he starts screaming in that horrible Light voice he used for Kuro in Kurozuka I'm gonna wait for the FUNi dub.

I couldn't wait any longer and watched some sub, whoever subbed that episode was definately a typical FMA fan. Calling alchemy "Renkinjutsushi" in the subs? My God.

Wait, it's already out?? *looks for the episode*

What's the episode count now at? I stopped at "Rock Valley", which was episode... 11, I think.

I dunno, I keep saying I'll stick to it. Then I get bored and don't watch it. At this rate, I might do a marathon.

I was waiting for Eclipse subs, but I couldn't hold out much longer and went for some random no name sub group, the translator must have been at a mental age of seven.

Chrono - It's at episode 15, it moves fairly fast so I'd say it's worth holding out a bit then speed blitz it.

Yeah, they were a few cock-ups in the subs... by I got to here Lins voice at last... I love it! And not just because he's Lin. It's a lot different from Light Yagami's -which is a good thing- despite ebing the same voice actor.
