Yeah, I checked their site today thoroughly for the first time, and since I live in Bradford. I may consider catching a Bus to leeds, since I checked the map, and My teacher claimed that a bus station is near the Leeds forbidden planet judging by the Directions on the google map (If anyone knows it true or not, please step up)

So is the Forbidden Planet a really good store, I'm sick and tired of buying Anime from a small section in HMV or found out that the anime section got rid of ages ago, and brought back the Porn section (Stupid men of britain).

So is the prices good, and services as well. Any help will be greatful ^^

I guess it's ok for specialist items and graphic novels/manga but if you wanna buy DVD's they don't usually have many and for everything you'll be paying through the roof.

Forbidden Planet sell graphic books but most of them are Marvel and Superman type stuff. The Forbidden Planet near me, in Belfast, does quite a good deal with manga where you can buy 3 £6.99 manga for £14.99. I'll be trying to go back to Forbidden Planet soon when I've got money.

To sum it up, it's a good shop but can be quite pricey at times.

the forbidden planet in leeds does focus more on manga, my mates at uni over there, but i don't think many of them do dvds my local one only has a small bookshelf worth,

I love it.
I don't buy DVDs there, never even looked at them, but it's great for manga.
And while I guess it could be considered pricey, the sort of manga I tend to buy is the stuff that doesn't get any discount online*, so there's not much price difference for me. If you're getting popular stuff, it's probably cheaper and easier to use amazon.

*because nobody reads it -.-

I frequent the one near me in middlesbrough whenever i have an hour break from uni. I only tend to buy my manga from there thanks to the forementioned three for £15 deal (though lately they don't seem to have the manga i want in, and i don't think they'll ever have Shaman King 12 in) the dvd selection is small and the prices are full rrp and no sales :( but at least they tend to have DVDs that the local Virgin megastore and HMV don't stock and sometimes you can get anime soundtracks there. I picked up Trigun- the first doughnuts OST from there :D

I go to forbidden planet about 3 times a week so ye its a good store but if your looking for anie dont go near it. The prices are pretty high and you can get way better deals on the internet. But for manga its a hell of a place. The forbidden planet near me has a huge selection but i dont know about anywhere else

or waterstones they have a 3for2 offer on manga at the mo but some stores aren't well stocked the one near me has increased it's range and has got the main ones like naruto, bleach, love hina etc

Forbidden Planet London is brilliant, but if you want a cheaper alternative go to Orbital Manga

Omg yes, its like a godsend
I was in there literally seconds and wated nearly everything in the store lol, their manga and comics downstairs is like the size of a library lol i love it.

Tis' definatly a good store for manga anime or anything Si-Fi related. I try going oncea week if possible though if something in there is too pricy then World's Apart is also good.

The store in Manchester is kickass, especially since they expanded over into the next shop, now it's f***ing massive.

They have everything for nerds/otaku's/geeks/trekkies etc. XD

I live within a bus ride of 2 Forbidden Planet stores. The small one in Croydon and the large one in central London. :)
They are indeed awesome, they're manga selection is really amazing and they have series by loads of publishers, they also have a decent selection of DVDs although they always seam expensive :(

Everyone's mentioned the one in London, but where exactly in London - like where's the nearest tube station? : o

Its near Picadilly Circus, at least thats which tube I go to.

Yeah, anyway I think its awesome. After living in Hull, where anime is practically non-existent it's great to have somewhere nearby that actually sells what I want. First time I went in there and saw their selection I nearly cried with joy (damn I'm lame)

The one in Dublin is pretty good too. They used to be pricy and I'd wait til when I was going to Belfast to get my manga on the aforemantioned 3 for £15 deal, then the one in Dublin started the offer as well for €25. Their prices for dvds are reasonable and sometimes cheaper than Tower Records on Wicklow St(the ONLY reliable store for anime in Dublin and they also stock cheaper region 4 Australian boxsets, though they have just doubled their boxset prices).

The only thing I don't like is that there is no competition for manga or anime dvds here, as other stores only stock the UK manga releases and HMVs anime selection will make you cry in both cost and availabiliy(€40/£25 for dvds and a selection of about 15 movies).
