The first footage for the upcoming Shin Gojira movie has been revealed. It's got the classic Godzilla roar with it as well. The official name for localisation is Godzilla Resurgence and the release date for Japanese theaters is July 29th 2016.
The film is produced by Toho who worked on the other classic Godzilla films but this time we have both Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Rebuild of Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (Gamera, Rebuild of Evangelion, Attack on Titan live-action films) directing the film. Higuchi himself have stated the film will recapture the fear and horror of the original Gojira film by making it the "most terrifying Godzilla that Japan's cutting-edge special-effects movie-making can muster."
This will be the 29th Godzilla film for Japan and also serves as another reboot (Japan has rebooted the series numerous times). It's also the first Japanese Godzilla film in many years since Godzilla: Final Wars.
