Final Fantasy VII anime news

The Japanese website FF7AC - reunion has been updated with the latest images of the Final Fantasy VII OVA (entitled Last Order). The OVA is to be included with the Japanese Limited edition release of the film Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children. The title is due for a simultaneous release in both Japan and America in September.

Looks great, I'm glad they're fleshing out the FVII canon and I'm slightly more excited at the prospect of an anime OVA than the CGI feature film.
 
im really hope this is good. what ive seen so far when FF is turn into a anime is not good but hopefully this will be better.
 
We're just getting AC. The OAV, Last Order, will only be out in Japan on the limited edition Advent Children DVD. That will cost more that $200 (in yen, of course).

I agree. It's worrying how many spin-offs are being milked out of FFVII, which while a great game, shouldn't be turned into a complete franchise. AC, BC, CC, DC, LO, cameos in other games...It seems SquareEnix are trying to make as much money out of one good game as they can. The spinoffs may be terrible, for all we know, but SquareEnix keeps releasing them in hope of more money. I suppose it's part of the reason i've gone off Final Fantasy lately, prefering more interesting and (in my highly biased opinion) superior RPGs.

On the other hand, I'll probably end up buying them all anyway, sadly.
 
i'm really looking for it's release, from what i've seen and read it doesn't look like it'll disappoint

I fear I will end up doing the same- although I'm sceptical about how good AC will be storywise, I can see myself checking it out anyway. I'm actually more interested in the OVA, which is ironic as I don't have the money to import the LE (and if I did, I'd be spending it on something else).
 
I will also be getting them all, because they're FFVII. I really don't mind them sponging from one title as long as they spend time making the title spin-offs good. I'd love to see some other spin offs, or remakes from VI, IV and such. These games, and movies have potential but will only for full it if they were done right.

I guess that means 2 minutes after it goes on sale I'll be hitting Bittorrent :mrgreen:

Yea hopefully, I'll buy Advent Children on dvd but balls to paying 200 bucks for Last Order, unless they release it over here aswell.
