1) Final Fantasy VIII - Dramatic music, gunblade fighting and mysterious text! When I first saw it on a demo disk years and years ago, I wanted it!

2) Resident Evil: Outbreak - A virus infecting mercenaries, carried by rats to orchestrated music - 1337.

3) Elemental Gearbolt - Wow this is a great anime opening. Mysterious woman and flashbacks to orchestrated music. I might consider uploading this to youtube at somepoint.

4) Soul Calibur 2 - SC3 may have had more budget for the opening but SC2 had more imagination! I like how the tempo of the music rises as it gets more dramatic. Cassandra ftw!

Can't remember any really, apart from Bubble Buster for my Spectrum. Think Pang circa 1983. The little ditty started but the bubbles hadn't appeared yet so I always made the little fella run back and forth till they did. First game I had.

FFVII was a standout, the soundstage was something else for the time of release, then Cloud bounding from the train with a whole can of BOOYAH.

Parasite Eve 2 was another one, heck that game dripped atmosphere. Aya striding up to the high-rise entrance with all the emergency vehicles and cops stood there ineffectually, waiting for her to kick some beastie butt. The way the screen travelled was jerky as she walked down the road, but the shot of the high-rise as she looks up.. my goodness, that was some good stuff.
 
Mobile Suit Gundam :Climax U.C.

I have to say, is more than gorgeous... Maybe the game is not the state of the art of gaming, but that intro is marvelous...

Perfectly timed\chosen song, epic scenes that make you feel the spirit of U.C. The Sazabi\Nu Gundam battle is spectacular...

And the "remastered" version is even better...

After that, I liked Final Fantasy X opening scene... (More for the soundtrack however...) The gorgeous one of Star Ocean 3, the one of Armored Core 2 (Yes, I play mainly RPG and Mecha games...) and even if it is dated today how do not mention the one for Xenogears?

Some anime intros!

Suikoden 3 - Should be in my top 5 really. Great animation, epic and good tribal/celtic music. Konami gave us Suikoden 4 instead! :evil:

Evil Zone - Yay for anime openings! This is from the US/EU version as the Japanese version had a song. But I thought the cheap techno sounded better :p

Shining Tears - Yep anime opening with Japanese song. Of course they took out the song for the US release and rearranged the animation. In my opinion the US version was more dramatic even when edited. I wish they had fight scenes like that in anime! Still, I like the song.

Ys VI: Ark of Napishtim - The old skool music is great! Swords, elves and pirates! I wish Konami would release more Ys games here. :D

Tokimeki Memorial: Girl's Side - Lots of bishies to behold and drool over. The main character who you the player, chase after - is named Kei has a bit of Squall/Emo complex.

Definetly the FFVIII opening :3
Soulcaliber opening...purely because you could make crack out of it xD (Well, at least 1 part anyway, kept me entertained)
And of course the Tales of Symphonia opening (I'm so biased xD )
 
Mines FFViii Intro Because i like the music and its my fave ff, Klonoa intro as its cute, got cute music, Grandia intro as i like the dialoge at the beginning :p Ermmm also Dead or alive U as that intro tell mores info bout it
 
My favourite are the Soul Calibur 2 and 3 opening videos, i always watch them and think this should be an anime or a full length film at very least
