Fate/Stay night

3rd best servant for me has to be Rider purely because she was quite interesting and seemed more exciting than some of the others.. Berserker was probably the most boring one..

hmmm Bererker wasn't really given a chance to be more intresting considering his role, he was just a Berserker, although i wonder what class Hercules would of been considering it was Ilya who made him into such a monster.

Well he didn't seem to have much reason or thought behind his actions.. so I guess if he was a different class, lets say a Saber Class, he would of probably been more interesting.. Then again, Archer wasn't much of an Archer either was he :p

good point, which makes you wonder why he was listed as an Archer class Gilgamesh made a bit more sense being an Archer due to his noble phantasm, where he just threw all his weapons at you

I don't see why he couldn't be more Archery being able to create whatever he likes and all. Didn't Rin or someone comment on him being an archer class that uses swords as well?

the 2nd op is misleading in that sense, still the series could of been overloaded if they tried to pack all the routes storylines in one shape or another. Still the manga should prove to give us more of Archer in all of his...Archiness... :p

Talking of classes i'm certain Lancer said that he could have easily been a berserker class servent if he wanted? Or something along those lines. Wonder if they had a choice or are simple chosen on who is more suited to each roll?

Well Saber was Saber twice so they're probably set to some extent, probably on their fighting style .. but it still doesn't explain Archer unless he chose to be that class so he wouldn't take Saber's Place in the Grail War..

One flaw in that logic, taking saber's place may of helped him out more. There's probably more evidence to suport his class, although the only time we saw him with a bow and arrow was when he was trainning. Still i would say they are set as well, although i wonder if you become a berserker are you stuck like that till after the grail war is over or are you permanetly a berserker. I mean could somone summon up Hercules as a different class (again the question arises to what class he would be, Saber is probably the cloest one)

Hmm thinking about it it will be who is more suited to each class. Since there can only be one of each class Archer couldn't be saber as Saber was well the best one for that class. Maybe Archer just wasn't suited for any of the other classes and the other servents fitted the bill more so he was left with Archer class? Gilgamesh would have suited it more but he wasn't really part of that grail war he just survived fromthe last due certain evil methods.

Well maybe Archer was Archer because he was the only one that could fully use range weapons and thus being the closest to the class, even though he also used swords. Well Ilya summoned him because thats the servant she wanted (if I remember correctly) and him being beserker was the way she could fully control him.

Gathered you liked Saber.. no idea how though :p
As you know who Saber is now.. have you read back and looked who Archer is? or do you already know..

I had a look back to see who Archer is so it's Shirou whose is Archer's true identity, though I also saw some of the clues while watching it such as when he was defeated by Berserker all that remain was one of those gems which was the same as what Shirou eaten

Indeed :) although that was what Rin used to summon him, but also the appearances are uncanny aside from hair/skin colour.

and the fact they used the same swords? a bit of a major give away as well ^^

That isn't a big one as such since he does think "I need strong swords, like the ones he had" so it could just be his copying power

Yeah but everyone else seemed to be shocked at what weapons he summoned and the fact he kept giving him hints about what he could do.
