Here's hoping for a 4 movie special collectors edition box set. xD.
There will be. And another smaller one a year or so later, then the anniversary edition, then the remastered edition...
Evangelion releases are like Street Fighter releases, there's a collectors edition, hyper edition, super edition, hyper super edition, etc. It'll never end.

Looks good, the song wasn't to bad either for the trailer. I still haven't seen more than the first 5 episodes of the series, so i still have a fair amount to get through, so at the moment, i don't really see me being able to compare the two until i actually see both, though i think i'll still prefer the original series to the movies when they are done.

What a wierd version of Fly Me to the Moon. It's not bad and I'm sure I'll grow to like it with time, but I'm not sure what to think of it. Other than that the trailer seems to consist of a bunch of scenes from the TV series with better animation quality. Nowhere near enough to judge what these movies are going to be like.

I think I heard that some famous classical pieces of music were used in Evangelion, but I've yet to hear any of it and I'm at episode 18! Is it actually there, in the series, or just used in trailers?

Last few episodes, and quite a bit in the movies, but now where as much as seem to be generally thought.

Shame they didn't use any Wagner inappropiately though. Like for example right at the beginning of the first episode.

Oh just SHUT UP ABOUT IT. .
We know you don't like that show. No need to drag it into every other thread.

That's good to hear! ^_^ I think classical, epic music suits Evangelion in some odd way.
It was very good in the 24th (i think episode), Death sucked cause it was basicly a whole series recap episode, but failed to make sense as a stand alone work. Still love Pachelbel's Canon in it though.

I think it's pretty much a universal consensus that Death sucked apart form the music.

Hmm, why do I have missgivings about the use of CGI? I know it brings it more inline with todays standard and makes it more modern looking, but it just dosn't have the same feel to it. :?

I know I can't judge going off the trailer, and to tell the truth I know it won't stop me buying it.

It's usually way too obvious. I think the only series where the CGI use has been really good was in SAC. They've been improving that with every installment.

By the looks of it, all the Units are perfectly animated, by the CG being used for the buildings and similar.

If EVA was produced today, with this animation; do you people think it would still stand out a legacy as much as it does today?
