If you like Ghost in the Shell….

Until discovering this site I wasn’t really aware of what anime was available. Since then I’ve ‘invested’ in a range of series.

Now, the one that really stands out above them all…drum roll….:

ERGO PROXY

It’s amazing. TBH, I’m only half way through the series at the moment, but unless something goes really odd (like a 4 episode long recap….Wolf’s Rain) I can’t image it turning bad enough to spoil what has already happened.

The story is interesting and treads the fine line between intrigue and “WTF’s going on?â€

Ive seen the first 3 or so episodes and am loving the art direction and the general feel of the series.
I cant wait for when its released here in the next month or so.
Its high on my most wanted list.

I haven't seen it yet :p
I was going to import it until I found out MVM had it lined up for UK release so i'm just waiting for that.

Seen it, but couldn't get past the first ep, unfortunately I started watching it when I had a load of other series to watch and due to not liking the first ep, no idea why I didn't like it, it just click for me it has been put to the back of the pile

I got to about episode 16 or so and it got confusing, mainly cause it was out once a week and I had other series going so I dropped it, but Im getting the dvds and gonna rewatch it soon. Its good, it just needs your complete attention.

I suppose it is a little slow to get going story wise, but the artwork is so stunning I didn't notice at the time.

I love the artwork and the fact Re-l looks like Amy Lee from Evanescence is an added bonus :D

Its very good, but i found it felt more like a huge pilot.

The ending where by the humans return, and Ergo/Vincent decides to return and not perish in the sun light, and resist humanity, though a good "ending" does feel like it could go further...

Art was good though fell down mid series (re-l often appears to have no nose!), and the animation in general is good. Story was very good.

I need a new cyber punk series to replace Ghost in the shell as there isnt any new, out atm...

Agreed the artwork is stunning if anything it would have kept me watching just for that but unfortunately I had a ton of anime to get through at the time but no free time to watch it all.

This series has now been moved to my 'to watch' pile after reading these reviews and comments so I will get around to it someday

Two other anime series I've watched recently seem to have a problem with noses;

The main Gungrave characters look to be wearing massive comedy noses when shown in profile.

Wolf's Rain looked like a guideline for a shadow to the left of the nose had been inked by accident, in nearly every scene. Unless it was supposed to look wolf-esque...?

I didn't notice Re-l's vanishing nose, but probably will now... :?
