[Bump] Just so you know, people in my class appear to tell every teacher :lol: Ive had to explain it to like 2-3 more teachers and I seem to have convinced 2 of them... problem is one of those teachers is my girlfriends dad :lol: And he doesnt agree. So I look a prick. Damn people in my class making me do every debate. I had to argue FOR GM Food (random split) and no one else can argue or debate well, so I had to do it ALL. And someone on the other side (against gm food) brought up africa and my presentation :lol:

Aid is essential and its a good thing. Your topic of not sending aid to Africa is stupid and misguided. You should have focused on removing the corrupt generals and government that take the food aid from the citizens to feed thier troops and embezzle money to pay for weapons and buildings.
I suppose we should just let the genocide in Darfur continue.

No we dont. We appear to be doing fine on our own. 20 billion pounds in 20 years?? And they are as bad now as ever?? Id rather that 20 billion go to cancer research etc. There are plenty of other things we could spend the money on. And its normal for them to be in those situations, who are we to say thats not the way to live. They work hard and get thier (admitedly small compared to us) reward. Well they earnt that. We dont need to say "Your doing really badly, be more like us". We arent necessarily right.

To anyone interested, I just finished the written assignment of this topic, and the actual speech/presentation will be on the first week back after half term, and il re post how it all went after its done.

As I promised I'd post after I'd done this presentation. And, it has been done. It over run by 10-15 minutes, but the teacher didnt care (luckily). It had a mixed response, overall I presented it well, and obviously handled what is a controversial topic well, HOWEVER, so many people hated me for saying it. I quoted Kurogane in it by saying that "America should be sent on an involuntary genocidal mission...." etc. and some of the peoples faces there were priceless, and yes, I got called a complete asshole, and about 3-4 people got very offended apperntly. But overall, I think its gone well, I get my grade -soon- and il bump or something again when thats done.
