Digital Devil Saga 2 *help*

The storyline for DDS IMO is simply amazing, it just constantly improves and always feels fresh, i must have rewatched a few of the key story scenes on YT quite a few times because i just love the emotion and storytelling behind them. It makes grinding just to see the next cutscene more than worth it. I can't wait to find out how it concludes :D

Also i played a couple hours more of DDS2 today, just about to enter the EGG facility now, having 'mutual karma' so early on is a big help so i don't have to worry about my other party members falling behind, i kept running into the jack frost enemy and have apparently answered 60 of his questiosn correctly now, is there any prize given if you answer all 100?

You do, you get a certificate that will allow you to fight him properly, and when you fight him and beat him you get the Pass ring which is helpful as it means you no longer waste turn icons on passing and the Magatama Ammo which has 200 Atk. Plus any time you encounter him after answering all (or after you've kicked the crap out of him) he'll give you an item and then leave.

I thought the storyline was really good, the way it was building up all through out DDS1. Replaying it after DDS 2 you pick up on a lot of things that just make it better, like the glare the Brutes leader gives Serph when you are first called to the Karma Temple

the pass ring sounds awesome, i really want to try to get that, how hard is jack frost though when you actually fight him?

Thats really good then, can't wait to replay it to pick up on all the small things. I also like how things which seem totally obvious just catch you off guard, such as in first game when about halfway through, ciello i think mentions how they know what a cat is, when i heard that i immediately thought 'holy **** he's right why didn't i pick up on that!'

He's not as bad as other bosses, i had a harder time with King Frost in DDS1

Yeah there was lot of things like that, the theme park in DDS1 the whole story of the princes, I think they were very clever in the way their interweaved the story through the games

i found king frost surprisingly more tougher than i thought he would be myself, still getting his mantra afterwards to be able to use 'cocytus' or whatever it's called was worth it.

Speaking of that story, are the two princes referring to Heat and Serph and the princess being Sera? does anything about that story get brought back up again in DDS2?

Yeah the princes are Serph and Heat, with Sera being in the middle of it all, i think that was just how she viewed them in the real world, in DDS 2 you find out the whole story and the reason behind the General's comments "How many times must you die for this man!"

Yeah getting his mantra more then made up for his annoyingness

ah awesome then, can't wait to find out the story behind all that, i am also very interested in the relationship between Gale and Angel, i remember during the scene before you fight the brute leader, when he comes to Gale he says something like 'I don't know who you are' so that got me really intrigued. Is the relationship behind that developed later on?

Yeah as i say you find out the whole thing and Gale's memories are part of that (the woman he kept getting glimspes of in DDS 1) The story is tragic though. Also strangely enough the game over screen ties into the events in the story

awww man your making me want to play this game more ASAP, which i intend to do tomorrow, well techincally later on haha. But right now am gonna go to bed man so thanks for the advice and stuff once again :D

hey back again, just completed the power plant and wow them scenes at the end where just awesome not to mention emotional, still can't believe what just happened. Rewind a bit back to the EGG facility though and i found 'abbadon' to be quite the bastard when i fought him but his boss song was awesome :D

no kidding man, i just finished the revist to the EGG facility and man the back story was really shocking but awesome, this is probaly one of the best stories i've ever seen in a game.

I got ******* really lucky in the revisit of the EGG facilty though, i encountered 2 omoikane battles and managed to kill all 5 in each battle giving me over 500K money and a hell of a lot of EXP, i feel real lucky for that to have happened haha

I hated fighting those things :p although i do love the move they do. The thing about the story is it makes you think of Serph differently and Heat as i said that Two Princes story is revisited but the facts are stranger then ficiton. Still glad you're enjoying it so far, to be honest the SMT ganes are the type of game i would of loved to have made, the style and storylines, can't say enough really. A bit random but have you seen the online game that the Beta opened for back in decemeber? Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine i think its called

yeah it was really good how they did the characterization of both heat and serph, heat is a really tragic character but thats what makes him awesome! I think my favourite bit of dialogue in the game though was roland's speech at the end of the power plant "The funny thing about karma... It goes round and round... and in the end, it comes back to bite you. It's just my turn this time...'', amazing.

SMT games are so SO underappreciated because as you say the stories are always very fresh and well written, credit has to go to shoji meguro to who is just amazing as a composer. But in a way i'm glad they are underappreciated because it means ATLUS will constantly look to improve with each game to impress people, rather than getting a swelled head and takiNG the lazy route out like some companies *i'm looking at you ENIX*

Yeah i've heard of it, i want to try it at some point, one of my friends played but didn't like it...but then he has really bad taste in games anyway so his word don't count  , have you checked it out yet?

I would agree with that, while i know prefer SMT over FF, i like the old FF games more then the new ones. I must say thanks to Ghostlight for getting these games over here in the UK, they would of flown under my radar if it wasn't for them making the effort that others would just let slip by.

I've tempted to play it but i know if i do i'll never get anything done :p I do want to have a go but i may wait until the Beta is finished

definitely, i love the PS1 FF games myself number 8 being my favourite despite all the negativity it gets, i just hate the ENIX generation of FF games.

Ghostlight are really good for bringing lesser known JRPG titles over here, i would say a big thanks to KOEI as well for bringing devil summoner and persona 3 out over here , i am so glad SMT games made it over here :D

lmao i hear that man, if it's as good as the console games then there goes my life hahaha, i hear it's meant to take place in between SMT 1 and 2, which makes wanting to play them games even more so. Any idea when the beta ends?

i'm not sure, Beta's often run for a few months so the bugs that are found can be cleaned up. I would say March maybe. I heard that about the storyline and that just made it more alluring, after some reading the storyline that goes through the first two games is really well done, and since LC is actually techincally SMT3 its supposed to have connections to it.

FFVIII is my fav as well, but then again that was the first i played, i not that long ago completed it again this time getting a lot of things i missed out on.

I thank Koei for a different reason (starts with Dynasty and ends with Gudnam)

For now though i'm wondering about the murmurs i've been hearing of a possible SMT4 on PS3

holy **** it was my first FF game too believe it or not! i also replayed though it during the end of august last year, i didn't realsie how **** i was at the game as a kid, it took me 80+ hours as a kid to get through and just under 50 this time, i actually used the draw system this time and realised how useless GF's are for battle wise hahaha, didn't try and take on omega or ultima weapon though, have you ever tested your might at them?

i never actually played dynasty gundam but i have a friend who has and liked it, i did have dynasty warriors 2 though as one of my first PS2 games, dynasty warriors is the ultimate stress relieving game, you just take out like a horde of 50 people at once with some high powered musou attack or just mow them down with your horse, always fun haha

I heard about that myself, if that did happen i may have to seriously consider buying a PS3, also have you heard about the persona remake on the PSP?

lol yeah back when i first played it i had a simple grasp on the junction system, i could asign magic but it wasn't till a later playthrough it clicked, more of the same magic = better stat. So i used the draw system extensivly, with the GF's providing back up and the providers of all the skills and extras. Plus during my time playing i've seen a feat now often seen, i saw my friend kill the giant spider in Dollet. I have managed to beat Omega but it took a lot of holy wars and a lot of grinding, and just like Sephiroth in KH2 a lot of swearing from me.

DWG is an alright game, its a lot simialr to the other Dynsaty games like, just with Gundam mechs and hordes of cannon fodder bots to tear apart, i'm looking forward to DWG2.

Kinda went a bit off topic there but what the hey :p

A Persona remake? Nope can't say i've heard of it, is it just going to be the first game or is it going to be the first two games? If a SMT4 does materlise though i'm going to have to rethink my policy on the PS3, upto know the only game that would make me buy one is Zone of the Enders 3
