I don't recall CR ever warning me about the end of my free trials. And because cancelling means you lose any remaining days of your subscription, I usually plan to leave it until the last minute... which in my case tends to mean a day or two after the following month's charge.

Those who are premium members do get time limited access passes that can be gifted to those of you who aren't so it may pay to get to know those in either forum or any groups at CR that are.
