Mmmmm... ::slouches in chair rubbing his belly::
Lunch was good as usual ^^
Has anyone here (besides Black) seen LAIN? If you have, did you see the dub or the sub (or both)? Just coz I bought it in America and wondered what was the best version to watch.
8302 ah yes and good timing as well since i just successfully completed the 2d animation tests...you see things were going well, the static models were all loaded fine and now were correctly scaled so they weren't tiny, there was still problems with music, and to be honest i think i need more experince before i play around with it. The controls were in, the shooting code was in things were going smoothly...and then disaster struck, we finally started work on implementing the 3d animations into the game, but the game wouldn't take them...not even just being added into the project (i.e. i wasn't even loading it into the code so it could be played) so my game designer and animator went back with the errors i gave him and tried to fix it, we tried again...and again...and again...and again. Still no luck whatsoever, then we turned up a new error that while it turned out to be the exporters fault, it was revealed that XNA had little to no animation support which made me sad since it meant i was going to have to create a custom importer from scratch that would read the file and then animate it
It led to a letter i wrote to microsoft in this very thread i'll retrieve it for you in a little while
flash forward and we're switching over to 2D animations, simply to get the job done but we're not using traditional sprites oh no...we're using the 3D models still but in 2d form

So in other words you've had a rough time since I went to America. That sounds like it was a huge pain in the arse Black. I think it can be a good change tho. I like the 2D style to games (when done well). Always prefered the original Street Fighters for example. Are you gonna make ir look cartooni/anime like? You gonna go for the cell shaded look? Don't answere these if you can't tell me like =P
I would have written to Microsoft too. What a knightmare, you'd think using a Microsoft there's always be away of finding the solution too.
