I used to read a lot...I had a subscription with FP. Green Lantern, Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher, Runaways, JLA and some other stuff.

Don't get any of them any more...all I go for now is Sonic (been getting it for about 13 years!) and Sonic X.

I used to read Sonic the Comic back in the 90's lol
anyone else havethat?

Yep, amazing stuff. I found an archive on the net a while back (Link has died now though) and I read the whole archive in a day. It was a beast. Looking back, some of the story arcs were immencely epic, and quite adult as well (Brotherhood of metalix anyone?) pity it got cancelled though.

As for me, I do read some comics (lots of webcomics) but my favourite graphic novels are easilly The Sandman series.

Brotherhood of Metalix zomg what a story arc!

Please refresh my memory to who Link was lol
embarrasingly i can't remember

Finally got The Darkness and it's definitely worth a read i bloody love it, can't put it down but wanna make it last at the same time lol.
Highly recommend it.

Haha, comic readers dilemma =P
I haven't got a lot of money to spare at the moment so I'm re-reading Ultimate Spiderman. Can't really go wrong there.

Just finished reading Moon Knight which was pretty cool as well as keeping up to date with Ultimate Origin and Secret Invasion (Marvel's big summer issues).

This thread has been dead since before Christmas lol so i thought i'd resurrect it.
I highly recommend anyone who hasn't already read it, Watchmen. Best comic book i've ever read.

Anyone been reading lately, can recommend anything good?

I finished reading Persepolis recently. It's a fantastic auto-biography by Marjane Satrapi, who lived through the revolution in Iran, experienced the oppression of the Islamic government, moved to Europe and had lots of experiences there, too. It's really, really great and I highly recommend it! :]

I do enjoy the odd Graphic Novel (I'm not being pretentious, I prefer that term because the ones I like could hardly be described as "Comic") And these are some of my favourites:

Warren Ellis's Transmetropolitan.
Alan Moore's From Hell, The Ballad of Halo Jones.
(actually, anything from these two)
Neil Gaiman's Sandman.
The Hernandez bros. Love & Rockets.

That's good to hear, since I ordered it from amazon a few days ago.
I haven't really read many graphic novels, partially due to my dislike of the superhero genre, and partially due to the difficulty of getting good recommendations. Although I have been meaning to check out the Sandman series for a while now...

Yeah, you shouldn't be disapointed with Persepolis, Ramadahl. I enjoyed it for the politics and social history, but even if you're not interested in that, it's just a really nice, interesting personal story. I can't wait for the movie!

I added Green Lantern to my subscription recently.

Only problem is, I've missed about three years' worth and I can't be bothered hunting them all down. =/

I've loved that as well. Have you seen the movie?
I highly recommend it as well :D

Nope, the movie isn't out until next month I think. Really looking forward to it 8D
I've seen it in cinemas already... different release dates in UK and ROI I guess... anyway, go watch it. Somehow I have the feeling that you will love the movie. TBH, animation is a bit crap, but the story is so awesome, that you simple ignore any technical stuff.....

DC Comics announced two major license acquisitions - Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.

Just thought I'd share it ^-^
You know i can imagine resident evil as a comic not sure about devil may cry.

I think both would do pretty well. It's easier for me to imagine Resi as a comic as its been made into movies etc
That, and I've played the Resi series more than DMC.

Actually i thought the reverse :p I could easily see DMC as a comic Resident Evil thinking about it could be done like the Walking Dead series just with more action

Read The Ultimates V1 and V2 over the last 2 days, and must say i'm very impressed. V1 does the origins stories pretty well for the team, and manages to keep a good pace and plot going throughout. If they used a similar story for the upcoming Avengers film, i'd be very happy.

I blindly buy anything Alan Moore / Neil Gaiman. I really liked the punisher by Garth Ennis, and I also like Will Eisner. I wanted to collect The spirit from him.

More recent stuff, I've enjoyed Runaways and Ultimate Spiderman.
