Comic Books/Graphic Novels

Sorry if there is already a thread for this, i did search it but couldn't find anything.

Just wondered what everyones fave comics and graphic novel from the western world are?

I'm currently obsessed with Ultimate Spiderman, so so so good
Gone off Ultimate X-Men at the mo but nearly up to date on that.
Also I've just read Civil War, Marvel Zombies and have been trying to get hold of The Darkness but it's proving difficult.
If you get the chance check out DEMO which is drawn in a western take on manga art, tis a collection of stories and is an indie classic!
I'm i bit of a Marvel boy to be honest, could anyone recommend any other good ones?
 
I'm Massive Jhonen Vasquez fan(boy)
So I love I Feel Sick, Johnny The Homicidal Manic, Squee, Fillerbunny. And all the other crap that that loser has produced.

Also. SLG do have some brilliant comics on there line up. :D
 
Marvels X-men & Spider-man

X-files - Not done any more but when X-files was at its peak the graphic novels were great. Manga Even released the first one along side titan comics
 
I'm currently reading the Kevin Smith comic versions of Spiderman and The Green Lantern, brilliant artwork and the stories are true fan-dom pieces of art
 
I used to read a lot...I had a subscription with FP. Green Lantern, Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher, Runaways, JLA and some other stuff.

Don't get any of them any more...all I go for now is Sonic (been getting it for about 13 years!) and Sonic X.

I used to read Sonic the Comic back in the 90's lol

I READ SONIC TOO =D I'm loving this Sonic Vs. Tails thing right now. I used to read STC, and migrated to the Archie comics when it stopped. You're the only other person I know that reads them =P

STC was awesome, i always wanted the Sonic and Knuckles dogtags they gave away in the letters section lol.
I have like 3 boxes full the furthest one back was issue #3 which had a Streets of Rage comic strip in it! I also have the Knuckles one off summer special lol. Proper loved them as a kid.
Apperently STC still runs a website

Hahaha, nice.

My tattooist knows Vasquez and some of the guys who worked on Invader Zim. He says Vasquez is absolutely minted.

I collect Batman stuff mainly. The past few years or so I've been collecting Harley Quinn comics.

I'm also collecting the Anita Blake graphic novels too. (Yes, I am a fan-girl.)
 
I'm a big fan of Ultimate Spider-man, although i've recently started buying a lot of the Civil War graphic novels. I'm a big fan of crossovers, and the concept of a superhero civil-war is pretty cool :)

I can't believe how hooked i am on it, which chapter you on?

Civil War is great if not anti-climactic, you should also check out Civil War Front Line which runs alongside, it's a real good read.
 
I've got Front Line 1 which i've enjoyed, need to get part 2 for it. As for USM, i've got upto issue 85 at the moment (yeah, i've quite a bit of catching up to do).
 
Currently only collecting Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Season 8 and have just recently started reading The Sandman graphic novels.

A few favourites from the past though were the original Eastman and Laird Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles graphic novels, the Judgement in Gotham graphic novels and Battlechasers.

For Civil War, I currently have the actual CW novel, Road To CW, Front Line 1, and Amazing Spider-man. I plan to next buy Front-Line 2, the second Spidey book, Iron-man and Captain America. I have the whole series saved on my Amazon wish-list, so i'll get it all eventually :)

Anyone read New X-men, been thinking about picking that up for a while, anyone else read it?

Yep, amazing stuff. I found an archive on the net a while back (Link has died now though) and I read the whole archive in a day. It was a beast. Looking back, some of the story arcs were immencely epic, and quite adult as well (Brotherhood of metalix anyone?) pity it got cancelled though.

As for me, I do read some comics (lots of webcomics) but my favourite graphic novels are easilly The Sandman series.
