Combining hobbies, LEGO and Anime/Manga.

Recently I tried my hands on combining some of my hobbies, I'm a big fan of Lego and of course Anime and Manga (and Japan ;)), so I thought what about using it as an inspiration for my Lego builds, here are some of my builds:

A Ghost in the Shell Fuchikoma which even fits a fig quite nicely:

My interpretation of the section 9 members, from left to right:
Saito - Tactical Sniper
Motoko Kusanagi - Major/Field Commander
Togusa - Investigator/2nd Field Commander
Daisuke Aramaki - Lieutenant Colonel/Section Chief
Batou - Lead Investigator
Boma - Spotter, Investigator, and bomb specialist
Pazu - Investigator
Ishikawa - Covert Intelligence and Technology Executive Officer

and a Fuchikoma who does not want to miss the photo session.

When building the Fuchikoma i had to also make the members of section 9.

The Meguro River (目黒川, Meguro-gawa) is a river which flows through Tokyo and is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in the spring.
March 27 is the Cherry blossom day (桜の日, Sakura no Hi) so today is the perfect day for another build featuring the Cherry blossoms.

I also post some builds (and some other stuff) on twitter; https://twitter.com/AtTheBricks

Thanks for looking and feel free to comment.

I love these, especially the Fuchikoma. Wish I had the patience/skill to sit and do this with the boxes and boxes of lego in my house. My kids would rather play video games than play with lego so it goes unused :(

Haven't posted here in a while, not that I haven't made anything it's just not related to Anime/Mange, have some ideas but for now I'll just post some of my latest work I wanted to share here, some are made for online international LEGO contests.

Each picture links to a bigger version of it,.

Marko and Sascha's home

Aquasharks - Sea Pincer

Murata - C1E

The following are all made for specific categories for a contest, I'll post the rules in a quote:
Gradients - Pick your color(s) carefully! For this category you must select a section of the color wheel and only build in the LEGO shades available. Example: You go with the green corner and then must only use shades of green (dk green, green, bright green, lime green, trans- green etc.) Minifigures and accessories are not exempt and must also fit in the same color family. Black, white, and trans-clear are also permitted in any color scheme. We want to see creative and effective use of your selected color. Naturally, you may use other colors as filler, but none should be visible.

Silvaridis, the forest wizard home
African Setting - Get ready to explore medieval life in Africa! Elaborate temples, unique fortresses, bustling cities, or rural village life, the choice is yours! Africa is a massive place, so you have quite a lot to choose from. If you’re unsure where to start, some great sources of inspiration are medieval Moroccan, Egyptian, Great Zimbabwe, Somalian, Nigerian, and Aksumite cultures.Entries to this category should be historically inspired and/or lean towards realistic interpretations of life, architecture, agriculture, mythology, religion, culture, etc. during the times bounded by the contest rules.

Lost at the bazaar
Subterranean - Who knows what lies deep underground? Don’t get claustrophobic as you venture into dismal mine shafts, crumbling ruins, majestic caverns, dwarven halls, goblin cities, or whatever else you can think up!

Everyday life of a dwarf

These are sooo cool I love them 😭 ❤️ I've started making wire and bead sculptures (they're posted in my creative thread on here) but so far just a couple of lil trees XP I particularly appreciate what you did with all the greens and the bazaar :)

@RadFemHedonist Thank you. For the gradient one, it was initially hard to come up with something for that category, but then I had an idea using al kinds of green and the house came together rather well. The hardest part was making a minifig with the same restrictions, but the wizard fits nicely now with his home in the green world.

When I saw the bridge I thought immediately of Spited Away. The bath house from that would be cool! But it would be quite a big project.
Thanks, that would indeed be a nice project, maybe someday.

Very cool, and nice photography as well
Thanks.

I have been quiet here for a bit, but I did make some more things the last couple of months:

A scene with some candles and a treasure box with a glowing crystal (a LED light is behind that).

A small Aquanauts Listening Post (to fit with the original theme from Lego)

Recently gort Nier: automata on switch and thought it would be fun to try and make it in Lego form, here is 2B, Pod 042 and 2 machine lifeforms:

2B: "Pod, these Machine lifeforms are behaving very strange."
Pod 042: "Affirmative, they act rather suspicious."

A steampunk lighthouse on a floating rock and a small airship:

A micro scale castle:

A medieval tavern:
