The Boss
Beez just posted in their blog covers for Code Geass. It also confirms that the series will be release as two half-season set.

Part one is already available. I have it on my desk waiting me to finish Marimite s3. And the price is great about on par with the US version. Go buy it!

The only annoying thing is not knowing what to do with the wraparound paper since it doesn't fit into the nice book-style digipack once you open it up. I could just throw it away, but it's pretty...

I couldn't quite see it from the pics which were linked to elsewhere, but that's another one of those beautiful hardback digipacks. My most loved form of packaging since ever, which Beez seemed to start using in earnest not long after I mentioned how much I loved the Patlabor LE's. Coincedence..?

I'll feel really bad not buying it since intentional or not (though I suspect not) Beez have effectively done my bidding WRT packaging. If only there'd been a Blu-ray version.

::cries::

Truth is, we just don't know until anyone from the industry cares to fill us in on the details. We've had hints from Andrew about Beez having a BD 'schedule' for a long time but nothing concrete yet - I don't know if Expo is likely to yield any results or not.

I would still have thought there was a more viable market for anime on BD than there is a lot of things, what with the Playstation gamer / anime connections - The two often go together. That's not to say that everyone who owns a PS3 likes anime, but a lot of people who like anime own a PS3. The general feeling I get from people on the 'net is that a lot of them (me included) are waiting with baited breath for BD to take off. It already is doing in the US to some extent, but that's mainly region locked Funi titles.

::shakes fist::

We had Freedom, gunbuster x diebuster in blu ray from Beez (I know I have them at least) and Afro samurai from Manga

I can only guess that these didn't do very well to give both companies a reason for more.

/strokes Zone A Blu-ray playing PS3

Mm same here, so I'm only picking up UK releases if they're region free and focusing on US/JP. The regions this time around seemed to shoot the UK in the foot so I made the decision to avoid being trapped in a weak region code; I find it unlikely there'll ever be anything out here I can't get elsewhere but the opposite is already true.

I don't want to support the UK region code for blu-ray as it's a horrible arrangement.

Stupid Funimation and there region locking...

IN FACT...As I am always quick to state, region locking has always been the biggest bane in my life, every damn time it comes down to region locking. Last time though, I at least got myself a little recognition for my failure. I am the 'John' who sent in the fact that Funi's first DBZ double feature Blu-Ray was not region free to liesinc.net. It was sold to me as region free /cry. Got money back though. :D
