Interesting. I'll have to watch Nausicaa and Lupin. Seen Mononoke quite a few times and have it on DVD and i'm not interested in Porco Rosso. They seam to like airing Ghibli movies around Christmas :/
 
Its decided. I'm watching the first three, I wouldn't be able to watch Mononoke again, I was dying during the first viewing. FUNi done that Lupin movie so that'll be alright and Ghilbi dubs are tamable so I can get used to that.
 
Fantastic news! The only one of those 4 I have seen already is Nausicaa, so I think I'll give that a miss! Will try my hardest to watch Lupin, Porco Rosso and Monoke. Just to confirm, those times are PM, not AM, right?

No actually Funi didn't Dub Cagliostro. This version will probably be the Streamline Dub which in my opinion is pretty poor even to the Manga Dub of the film. The Streamline Dub changes dialogue to turn it into a love storyand also change it so that they say the exact opposite to what they say in the Japanese version, Jigen refers to Lupin as 'Boss' even though they are meant to be equals and Lupin isn't even called Lupin, he is called Wolf throughout the movie. In addition to all that there is a lot of dialogue added in where in the original there was silence. The additions are mostly cringeworthy in this dub.

The most notable thing I remember was one of the last lines.

Yep, they're Funi and have a pretty nice selection. There's a couple of duds but for the most part they are quality sets.
 
Note that the first 4 films are on Channel 4 not filmfour.

I have just found out that filmfour will be showing

My Neighbour Totoro 16th 14.55 and 21st December 16.45.

Kiki's Delivery Service 26th 15.10 and 30th December 13.00.

I'm not sure but Lupin might be in Japanese with subs because the Japanese cast are credited. Do not take my word for this I'm not 100% certain.
 
Channel 4 seem to have love for all things Japanese. They are showing the original Grudge (Ju-on The Curse) Friday 14th 1.10am seems like Zaoitchi worked for them (different genre I know).

Rockworld will also run an anime marathon of Divergence Eve and DNAngel on the 27th of December.

Animecentral are going to run Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop marathons through the Christmas and New Year week.
 
They should start airing more anime films on channels in my opinion, or just make a channel dedicated to anime even if its only late at night.
The anime fanbase in the UK is growing each week so there is alot of need in my opinion :D

I'd personally like to see adult swim on Channel 4, as a general adult animation segment. While shows like Bleach, FMA, Hack etc are on Animecentral is start however they are all overwhelmingly marketed at teenagers personally I'd like to see a bit more edgier anime/comedy on tv.

Paranoia Agent, Monster and the new dub of Crayon Shin-chan of course not forgetting my Aqua Teen and Venture Bros fix all deserve decent UK air time. A lot of these shows are overlooked and that in my mind is criminal.
