Bleach manga to enter final story arc

While the Bleach manga has been on a break for three weeks, Tite Kubo has been giving small snippets of information about the upcoming story arc in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. This week, the magazine has revealed that the upcoming story arc will be the last one.

The manga has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2001. Considering how in an interview last year, Tite Kubo stated that the series was about half-way done and the recent three week break, it seems possible that the series has been effectively cancelled (but allowed to finish) and this break was for Kubo to redraft the final arc. Some of the revelations said to be included in this final arc are:
- The relationship between Isshin Kurosaki and Ryuken Ishida
- Squad 0 and the Spirit King
- Kenpachi becoming a Captain
- The secret of Ichigo's birth and his resemblance to Kaien Shiba.
- The relationship between Urahara and Yoroichi
- Squad 4 Captain Retsu Unohana will finally enter the battlefield.

I used to love bleach but it has been dragged out to the point of insanity. hope it has a good ending but this recent arc just had me cringing and moaning the whole way through so there might be no hope left for it. all i care about is kenpachi, isshin and urahara other than that i could care less at this point.

Correct me if I'm wrong wasn't this posted a few months ago and it turned out to be false? Either way: good. I've not been willing to start Bleach until I knew it would end :p

That was when the band performing the previous ending song for Bleach said on their blog that it was for the final season of Bleach, which made everyone wonder if the anime adaptation was ending, which they later removed.

This time though, it's about the manga and the source is Shonen Jump itself.

It has been mentioned before the last arc that after the Arrancar arc there would be a short story arc (the lost shinigami) and a long story arc which is supposedly going to be longer than the Arrancar Arc. Bear in mind that the Arrancar arc took 4 years to finish

Indeed it has, now lets just hope it doesn't just devolve into killing the good characters (grimjow, ulquiora) and not killing the ****** characters (aizen) and leaving us with ichigo and co who shouldn't be the main focus of everything cause the best thing about the soul society arc was that it introduced lots of great characters, gave them all interesting backstories and abilities then brought all the stories together in a satisfying way + not dragging it the hell out.

Yeah. Tite Kubo has pretty much split the series into 5 arcs:
The Substitute Arc -> Soul Society -> Arrancar -> Lost Agent -> New Arc

But then others (namely the fans) have broken that up further, by splitting them up further, such as the Turn Back the Pendulum Arc, Fake Karakura Town Arc and Deicide Arc. So this will seem short for the fans, but not to Kubo.
