Black Lagoon

I watched the first four episodes and it didn't live up to the hype, it was enjoyable, but people blow it out of proportion on describing how good it is/was.

It gets better, depending on what type of anime your into alsos factors into whether it'll live up to the 'hype'.

Especially with the twins from series 2, and the mass of bounty hunters that turn up

You, pipe down. Just at the last episode of that arc and i'm looking forward to it. UP1 say my orders been processed already, just have to wait until it turns up. Shall go nicely with my other purchases this month.

It's hard to say what i like better, the first season is good but the second is just that little bit better. Will have a formal opinion and incoming write-up in about a week or two.

I'm going to be bummed out when i finish this and Kanon, happened when i watched the last episode of Bebop. Not because it was sad or anything, but because i know i'll struggle to find something of equal quality for a while.

I like stuff like Black Lagoon, but it never really gripped me.

Fair enough, this anime should start gripping on pretty tight soon, if not... then you can... enjoy it for what it is

As I'm going on vacation, I think I'll pick this up one way or another before I leave so I've got something good to watch at the hotel other than half-naked ladies. :]

 woke up this morning and this plopped through my door, excellent service if i do say so. The collectors tin is pretty awesome, you get two boxes. The normal DVD case and the metal one.

Going to look into the extras etc later, pics to follow.

Just watched the first 5 minutes of the first episode. The quality is fantastic and my god does it look crisp.

Not sure on the dub cast since i'm still watching the fansubs i'm attached to the Japanese voices. Once i'm finished the series i'll watch it again with the dub and compare them.

I really really dig this anime... It's one of the best, from the style, bad ass action and just everything... "no distinction is made between the moral question of right and wrong" (line from wikipedia) - an accurate description about the show that makes it really amazing...

Revy and Rock's relationship is really amusing to watch.... The manga is said to be on-going and I can't wait to get it animated...

Who cares about the dub enjoy them with the original voices, the voices they were intended to have

Yeah... Hearing Revy and the Russian Commander trying to speak English... Those were classic moments.
Spoke it well, but they sounded way off on how the words sound.

I enjoy the original voices but the dub is supposed to be really well done and better than the originals and i agree.

Dutch actually sounds like a bad ass black dude rather than the deep Japanese voice i hear oh so often. The dub is good but i haven't finished watching the subs yet so it's a conflict of interests.

Wish they made Rock speak Japanese with subtitles and the Black Lagoon to speak American, as there meant to, for some scenes anyway.

I guess that makes sense with Revi being American but I think they are all meant to be speaking american as Ballalika uses Rok as a translator later in series 2 when they go back to tokyo

Yep, and Revy starts talking in broken english. Seen that episode last night and i loved it.
