I’m amazed that I couldn’t find an existing thread for this show. I got volume 1 in the post yesterday (with collectors tin) and I’ve watched only two episodes so far but I absolutely love it already! It’s awesome!

Revy is an anime legend for me. I know it could be said that she’s something of a clichéd anime character; a tough, sexy brunette with a love of guns, smokes and alcohol (Mao – FMP, Faye - CB, Misato - NGE... sure there’re quite a few more) but she is the brand leader as far as I’m concerned.

Oddly though, the highlight for me is the closing and it’s theme. I just loved that and watched it several times over. Does anyone know anything about the availability of a soundtrack or any work by Edison (who wrote/performed it) as I can’t seem to find anything about either?

I’m sure I’m not the only person on here who’ll have bought this R1 release and I just know loads of you must have seen it fan subbed. So would anyone else like to enthuse about it and say how fantastic the Second Barrage is too?
 
I'm waiting for the R2 release, i'm guessing you got the R1 limited edition?

This show kicks so many kinds of ass and i'll be doing a write up of it when i finish, it only gets better you haven't reached any of the good stuff yet.
 
This is a great series, The Second Barrage is just as good, if not better than the first season. There is nothing I dont like about this series its that good :D, the guns fights are excellent, the mini stories are awesome and the characters (mainly Revy) are brilliant too.

Yeah I got the R1 LE. I'd like to have waited for the R1 but I'm a bit impatient. I'd only seen a little of it ages ago on YouTube and I've been itching to see it since. I should get into the fansub thing but I'm just too much of a stubborn traditionalist.

One of the GREATEST animes of all time, Revi is one of the most awesome gunslingers, I love the first time you get to see her gunfight and Rock releases she's smiling and looks so happy.

Later on in the series I love how close her and Rock become, like when they get arrested and she lights her cig off of his rather than the cops lighter and the scene is shot like they are kissing.

The day the R2 release comes out I will be buying it as I wanna keep this series on my shelf to watch over and over again.

Have been watching series one and two at work and remember how much I loved it, I really did love it when we get to see Dutch and Revi taking on the Nazi's and later in series two when Revi and the Sister go up against the Cartel, they rock.
 
No doubt about it, Black Lagoon was one of the best series from 2006, and a big personal favorite of mine. Aside from the impressive production values (i.e. the action is fluid and kinetic), it has an authentic sense of style; it's just pure adrenaline filled fun, utterly bad ass in execution. And it has the best Terminator 2 parody ever!
 
i have to say it was a great series and definitely worth watching. I have to order the series soon as well. I found it fun to watch and it was great in the way it was done. From what i know, isn't the manga still ongoing?
 
Watched the fan-subs from 1st-2nd Barrage.
Now you know why I wanted her to win the tourney... ;) Bad ass, fit-looking, psychotic and the series has a back-water and sleezy way of thinking... Except they are masters of it.

Both series have their highlights. But the peek of it HAS to be at the end of the 1st, and the start of the 2nd Barrage. I mean, IT'S ALWAYS TWINS THAT ARE F***ED UP, but not like these 2... total daemonic gemini. It's something I'm definately getting alongside Haruhi... This year is a good year for me for anime!

Anyways, look forward to it guys... It's not for the light hearted, and damn... I got "wow factor" oozing from this. It's just so "OMG-ish".

The 'tin' is the front and back outers, while the inner plastic part also makes the spine. As you can see, the DVD is still sent in the standard format and the tin contains the extra's disc. Don't ask me what's on that, as I don't know yet, given the likelihood of spoilers.

Btw, wasn't the manga translated into French ages ago?

I paid about £22 inc P&P from UP1. They’ve still got them in stock as I write. It is very nice and without wanting to knock the ever improving UK market, I bet that tin won’t be an option over here.

Ordered it just now, lets see how good UP1 are. It's only the first dvd so i guess i can wait and fill the rest out with R2's
 
I've done that with a couple of series. 'That' being buying the R1 volume one + artbox and filling it with the R2 releases. I've got spare copies of Elfen Lied and R.O.D the TV volumes 1 R1. Think I'll stick to the R1 all the way with Black Lagoon though.

Also, UP1 are fantastic in my opinion. It's getting a little late in the day now but I'd still be surprised if you don't get it delivered tomorrow.

How is that possible you stopped watching it right before they went up against freedom fighters and the series introduces a girl as psycho as Revi only with knives rather than guns
 
i didn't actually know that was what the LE of the black lagoon set was like, still looks cool. I'm guessing by the look of it, thats the tin for the first half of the series, not all of it.
 
The series didn't gripped me, Not that many series' do. But i love the fact that i watched it too the end.
